We are looking at a new build house and noticed it has it's own "foul water pump station", does having one of these reduce your sewage water bills in anyway? or does it not make any difference? Does anyone know

Thanks

Thats probably not an easy question to answer especially by the collective wisdom of those on here who wont know the answers to the following questions.

I guess it depends where you live and where the sewerage gets pumped to. Who owns the sewerage plant etc.Who maintains it. If it gets pumped to the sewers then the water authority would charge.

If its your pump then it would probably your responsibility to maintain it.If it's shared then you'll probably have a joint responsibilty to maintain and clear it. If the sewerage then goes somewhere to be treated and stored and it's not your own plant then I'm sure no ones going to do it for free.

I reckon it's a job for your solicitor to find out, you could ask the builder or even the local water authority.
