Having the…

Thames Water bill pro rata before meter installation
Good afternoon everyone, I moved in to my current flat in early January 2019. I received my first bill from TW only a month later and the amount was pretty high due to the fact (I later found out) that the bill was based on the chargeable value of my property. The bill did not provide any information whatsoever on meter…

Claiming against a hosepipe ban?
I've just had an email from Affinity, warning of hosepipe bans in Spring 2020. Can I claim against my bill? I really don't like the way they make it sound quite normal and even try and put a community 'everyone has to pull together' spin on it. They are a private company charging me money for a service they are about to…

High bill due to alleged leak
I received a water bill for just over £1500, which is ridiculously high. I contacted South Staffs and they said the meter alerted them to a possible leak in Dec ‘18 to Jan ‘19, to which they sent an engineer in Feb. An engineer did come and perform tests, and said he couldn’t find a leak, and said it was only a slight…

Hello, I have received a very threatening letter from Thames Water. They have requested that I make a payment of £2,609.67 within the next 7 days. Thames Water Bill
I received my water bill today which was an estimated bill like last time. I then submitted a water reading so that I could get the proper bill. We are paying £60/month for water in a 3 bed semi house, 2 adults, 2kids. I've always thought this is high but maybe we do use a lot of water I'm not sure. What should I do to get this checked? The only thing the water company have said is check the water meter throughout the night in case there is a leak?

Our village has about 10 houses all built before 1900 and all are connected to a sewer which drains to a fairly old (c.1930s) septic tank (which probably then drains into the river). United Utilities are our local water and sewage provider but say they have no record of our sewer so it is not their responsibiliy. However I…

Water bill. Excessive info required to change name on bill following bereavement ?
Welsh Water (Dwr Cymru) have supplied my parents home for many years, the account was in my father’s name and the 2019/20 bill was paid in full. Following his recent death my brother (we are both executors of the Will) advised them that the account should now be in our mother’s name. I telephoned them when my mother…

Contacted water company when I moved in, they couldn't find my address.. Now chasing arrears....
6Back in March I moved to a new apartment. The letting agency said I'll receive a letter in the next week or so from the water supplier to set up payment. After a week there was nothing, so I rang them directly. The lady on the other end couldn't find my property listed at all (an apartment), but she told me to leave it…
