Motor home hire - insurance excess cover
I’m hiring a motor home in the spring but the excess is (understandably) high. I’ve bought car hire excess cover before but I’m struggling to find something similar for motor home hire in the UK. Does anyone know of anywhere that does this that they’d recommend? Thanks

Travel insurance / protection on private rental bookings?
Hi. I’ve contacted the owner of a lovely holiday rental accommodation and they are happy to book me in privately. I spoke on the phone, he has a website for the accommodation and he seemed a lovely genuine chap and I’ve no doubt he is. but say there was some reason that we couldn’t go ahead with the holiday because he’d…

Car hire in the UK (Scotland) - pricing
I am looking to book a holiday in Scotland for a couple of weeks at end of April/start of May. Doing a search for 15 days car hire (economy size) came in at around a prohibitive £1000! We are planning on Inverness airport, but I checked Glasgow airport as an alternative, prices very similar there. I checked for prices in a…

EasyJet Refusing to refund expenses after Delay and subsequent cancellation
On a Xmas trip back from Scotland in December, we arrived at the Inverness Airport and waited for our flight back on Sunday 19th December. After 2 hours of delays, they cancelled the flight and told everyone to re-book using the app if possible. I found the next flight back to Bristol with EasyJet was the next day so…

Is this Fair
Is this fair, a couple of weeks ago I booked a weekend break at Potters Resort in July 20022, at the time I also took out the option which they promoted of extra cancellation deposit. Unfortunately I mixed up the dates for another holiday so I phoned to cancel this week, which they said they would, but less the deposit…

Do I have grounds to take this further? Incredible noise and mould in a hotel room
My partners mother booked a night's in accommodation on 17.12.21 for my partner and I, I was checking in first, he was joining me much later. Staying At A Hotel
Usually, do you pay for your stay when you get to the hotel? Or do you pay for your stay when you check out? I can remember going to various countries and we would pay on check out, but a hotel I stayed in in London asked for the payment upfront, upon check in which I thought was a bit strange.

Travelodge / Premer Inn with free parking close to tube, north or west of London
Hi everyone. Bit of a specific question here, one that (so far) no hotel website can help me with. Maybe in a couple of years AI will be able to make sense of it. Until then, MSE users are still the best B) I'm looking for a cheap hotel (i.e. Travelodge, Premier Inn, Ibis etc) somewhere close to the the M25, between M4 /…

Conventions on a budget!
Hello, I am going away at the weekend to an anime and gaming convention at one of the Novotels in London. I have set a challenge to myself to spend as little as possible. These conventions have some nice stuff there, but are overpriced. Drinks will be expensive there too. I have been signed off sick for two weeks. The…

Advice on DRIVING to, in and around London (RE: Restrictions/fines etc) this week (11th Feb 22)
Hi all This might seem like a bit of a silly post but living in The North of UK and not being able to travel to London (mainly because of C19) I am not where like I should be up to speed with the rules, regulations, fines, zones etc in The Capital. There are some specifics in that post that can't be changed so I'd be…

Ripped off by booking.com and Britannia hotel
I booked a room at Sachas hotel (Britannia) at 00:30 on 09/10/21. When I got to the hotel 30 minutes later I was told by the doorman that check in stopped at 00:00 but I shouldn't worry as I would not be charged for the reservation. Needless to say Sachas charged me the full fee at 09:00 am. I have disputed the transaction…

Insurance cover for UK trips (cancellation ) post Covid
Prior to Covid, any UK booked trips were covered by the fact that I had an annual policy for overseas holidays. It wasn't usually possible to cover for a UK only single trip. I haven't yet booked a trip abroad and, even if I do, it may be a single trip so not worth buying annual cover. I would like to book a UK trip but I…

HotelBeds Fake booking - help needed
I booked 2 rooms at a hotel through booking.com - I no longer needed them so cancelled online. All good. The hotel won’t cancel as it needs to be done by…

Where to holiday with 7&8 year old?
I'm looking for ideas of where to take my daughters on holiday this summer. We went to Devon last year and they loved the arcades but soon got bored of the beach. Looking for suggestions of areas to look at preferably somewhere with an arcade, but also other things that won't cost a fortune in admission costs. I'm really…
