Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
Its been a while since I've done it and I believe direct bus return is £15, if I were doing the trip now I would probably get X39 bus to Bristol (or even catch train) and then catch the Bristol flyer to airport from train station, much more flexible on times etc."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "2

NeillB said:Thanks everyone. Yes its Bath Im looking to go to directly. You have to switch trains in Bristol which isnt totally bad but I just fancied making life easier by a direct journey. From what I can see its £15 one way and the airdecker is the only bus service running direct to Bath as mentioned above. If Im wrong let me know of any alternatives that you are aware of (for example if switching trains/buses is easier/quicker than Im thinking).
I am pretty sure that there is only the one service, which is likely to be the most convenient for you.
Otherwise you could take the 'Flyer' to Bristol Temple Meads, from where there are frequent trains to Bath that take just ten minutes. And if your final destination in Bath is far from Bath Spa station you might find it more convenient to take a bus there, either from Temple Meads or from the Bristol Bus Station where the 'Flyer' terminates.
My decision would depend on when I left the airport and which bus was leaving next. I suggest that you study both sets of timetables.

If it were me I'd get the flyer to Temple Meads and then the train.
The bus station in Bath is almost next door to the railway station so getting the bus is unlikely to to be better in terms of where you can get off, although it does depend a little where you are heading for and whether it's close to any other stops.
Quite a lot of the trains from Bristol to Bath are intercity trains (e.g. Bristol to Paddington) so tend to be fairly quick and comfortable, and many are starting from Brostol so unlikely to be too full (and it's only a 10 minute journey anyway)
I think the only downside would be getting you luggage from the bus to the train at Bristol, depending on how much you have and which platfom you want (Bath only has 2 platforms, so not far to carry anything!, but Bristol has about 16, so while the bus will take you right up to the station entrance you may have a little way to go inside, if that's a consideration.)
If you don't mind a slow journey then the airdecker will be fine, and takes you through some quite nice countryside.
