Taking the Jump... Sky TV
Hi.. I'm seriously thinking of cutting out my Sky TV package and just having broadband and line rental, at the moment).I haven't yet looked around for a cheaper broadband packages. The question I'd like to ask to those who have done this is what channels are you left with that you can still watch? Is there a lost of them…

is it considered tacky to have a mounted TV that is wider than the fireplace below?
just moved into a house and keen to get a 75-85 inch TV. The way the room is set up it makes sense to have the TV above the fire place. However, within the dimensions of the fire place I can only have a 55" TV. I'm keen to go big. Is this considered bad looking (i.e. TV wider than fireplace).

Sky just refuse to haggle with me!
I've been with Sky for almost 22 years now but it seems my loyalty is worthless in comparison to a new subscriber. Virgin still don't supply my area, I've lost count the number of years I have registered my interest and been told they'll get in touch when they roll out. I need to reduce my bill. I am currently paying £82 a…

Cancelled Everything...Help!!
Hi. I just need reassuring that I've done the right thing... Or not as the case may be. I've cancelled my sky TV package, my broadband and talk. And basically everything. I got fed up with being locked into an 18 month contract where if I cancel this that goes up or if I want this then I can't have that etc. I understand I…

Best option for watching and recording TV?
We're currently with PlusNet and have a YouView TV box through then which we can record on. We're going to change to a new broadband provider and I'm guessing we will no longer be able to use this box. If that is the case, what are the best options for watching and recording TV please? I don't want to buy into a TV package…

Switching to a IPTV Box - recommendations?
I'm one of those people affected by the Virgin Media price hikes, and I'm looking at broadband alternatives. I realised that we don't really watch much TV apart from the BBC channels and sometimes ITV. I'm not sure my antenna signal is strong enough to get a Freeview HD decoder so I was pondering to buy an IPTV box…

Forced to split TV & broadband
Ofcom stopped TV/ broadband providers from sharing the cost of the component parts, I’m told, to benefit consumer choice. This presents a problem when my employer will reimburse my broadband and line rental as I use these for work but not (obviously) my TV. Virgin can’t provide a bill that I can submit to my job expenses…

terrible customer service
I would like to share my experience of terrible customer service from Virgin Media when I tried to renegotiate my costs after a price rise. Following the advice on Moneysaving Expert, You and Yours and my own long experience of negotiating savings on energy and insurance I was ready for Virgin Media’s usual tactics (I…

Do I Need a TV license?
Hi all, I’m new to this forum and whilst I’m sure this question gets asked a lot, I have quite specific circumstances so I am unsure if I need a TV license. I use my Playstation as a media centre which means I watch all my Netflix, Amazon Prime and Sky content this way rather than the traditional Sky box/Smart TV. The Sky…

Saying no to the TV Licence?
Hi, I'm new here. But this has been an issue for more than 2 years now. I have been trying to get the TV Licence people to stop sending me letters threatening me with a visit and or a fine. The reason they are on my case is my partner and I broke up 2 years ago and she moved out and they think "new" people have moved in. I…

Sky Q 4K worth it?
Ive just bought a 4K TV but have a Sky Q HD box. Im on Sky Signature and got rid of Sports and Movies years ago. Apart from better picture quality is it worth upgrading to a 4K Q box? I was quoted £25 "installation" fee (you get the box posted to you so theres no engineer visit) and £4 per month thereafter as part my…

Add Sky Sports mid subscription, rolling contract?
Sorry this may be a dumb question. Looking to get Sky soon, there is a current deal for Sky Sports at £20 a month, but it ties you into an 18 month contract. I'm only watch F1, so I don't like the idea of paying for 4-5 months when it's not being used. I know you can upgrade your package during your subscription, but if I…

Now (formerly NowTV) refuse to reply to my claim about overcharging
Some time ago, I set up an account with Now (formerly NowTV) and I used it once or twice for one-day passes to watch particular sports games. I also have a vague recollection that - to watch something - I set up a trial account, or bought a month-pass or something, and then canceled it. Or something. I really can't…

my way of saving with TV and at home entertainment
This may have been posted before but this is my way of watching the best TV for cheap. Tell me if you have a cheaper method.... I basically only have one active service per month. I watch everything I want to, and at the end of the month cancel, and activate a different service the next month. As none of them have any more…
