Aerial problems ( I think ! )

Hello
I have a rooftop TV aerial, and a splitter which enables an aerial socket in the lounge and a bedroom.
In the lounge the TV has suddenly stopped working, with a message on screen saying ' no signal ', but if I take the TV up to the bedroom it is still working there OK.
I don't have any other equipment connected, it is just a basic setup with just the ordinary freeview channels via the aerial, and on the TV settings the input source is correctly showing as ' antenna '.
On the coaxial plug in the lounge, I can't see anywhere where the silver braiding might be touching the inner core copper wire, and as far as I can see there is no cracked cabling which might let wet to get inside.
Could anyone please advise as to what the problem might be, as I feel that I should try to know a bit more before I contact a local TV/aerial engineer.
Thanks.

Sounds like the splitter is faulty (or the wiring at that end). Have you tried switching the cables around at the splitter end to see if that works?0

Thanks to everyone for their advice so far.I have taken apart and reassembled the coaxial plug in the lounge, and possibly ( ? ) as a result of that, there has been a little improvement.BBC1 no picture and screen saying ' no signal '.Channel 4 showing a picture, which sometimes breaks up a little.QVC shopping channel showing a picture continuously with only occasional breaking up ( I am vaguely aware that freeview channels are organised into some kind of groupings). When the coaxial plug in the lounge is connected into the TV it does not seem quite as tight fitting as the plug connection in the bedroom into the same TV.Would that suggest that for the lounge it might be just a case of still trying to tighten the connection, or is it still likely to be a splitter ( must be on the roof ) or lounge cable problem ?Thanks.0
