advance application for Oyster 60+
I will be eligible for this in the spring. Does anyone know how far in advance of the 60th birthday applications are accepted? I don't know how long TFL takes to process them. I already have an Oyster account for pay as you go.

Network rail card
Hi I have found a Black Friday deal at Trainline, purchase rail card and then get £15 off journey booked before end of December. Has anyone purchased via them as I know they have a booking fee but if I was to take up the offer as I have a journey to book, it is still cheaper than Railcard. The digital card will be saved in…

Split-My-Fare, reputable? I think not!
Any split fare ticket experts out there? I've just tried to buy a ticket using the above site only to find that what it's offered me is a ticket which they say is flexible travelling at the times I've chosen for £37.70. But then you look at the ticket details it states it's off-peak return. The return journey clearly says…

Is it safe to cycle on UK roads? - interested in people's opinions
I watched the recent BBC Panorama programme 'Road Rage: Cars V Bikes'. As a result I am very seriously considering getting rid of my bicycle. Perhaps it sounds a bit naive but this programme has given me a whole new perspective on cycling. I have been a cyclist for many years. I fall into the category of somebody who…

Santander Cycles - Any good?
I'm going to be doing some work in London, and have been looking at Santander cycles. I'm interested in using one to get me from a main line station to my employer in central London. This won't be every day, so very much on an ad hoc basis, maybe a couple of times a month. Has anyone used them? If so what are they like? Do…

Train leaves (very) early
I arrived at Euston this morning at 8 to find that the 8:30 had already left at 7:50 as it had been rescheduled. That meant I had to wait til 9:10 for the next train which also required me to make an additional change ,meaning I arrived well over an hour late. Should I be able to claim compensation? Would have been…

National Express website - account problems
For three days I've been trying to book a return journey for later this month. I sign in to my account, provide day and time and railcard information. List of the outward journey possibilities appears - I select one - but then it whirls round and doesn't move on saying that it is "searching for the best fares and times"…

Network railcard discount for off peak day travelcards?
Hi, is there a way to buy a non-paper off peak day travelcard for London with the 30% discount of the Network Railcard? Every time I have to buy the paper ticket in advance, and unavoidably it doesn't let me through at most of the gates: - the white ticket released by the underground stations doesn't work at the rail…

What to do pending reissue of lost child Zip Oystercard
Hi all! 11 year old son discovered this morning while getting ready for school that he's misplaced his Zip Oystercard since Friday (he used it that evening to go to the women's international at Wembley so most have dropped it on the way home). We'll request a reissue today but they are sent by post and we don't expect to…
