Lost coronation chicken recipe
A while back googled for a coronation chicken recipe and made one that sounded good but it turned out to be amazing... Mrs said she was going to put it in her book of great recipes and obviously forgot to. Trying to find it again and can't :( I remember it started with poaching the chicken with aromatics... I know it had…

Weekly Flylady Thread 1st May 2023
Welcome to the weekly Flylady
Thread. What is FLYLADY? Well, it's our version of the US flylady idea - but we work on
the principle that housework is not fun, it's boring, can be time-consuming, is
often thankless but, unfortunately, necessary. It's here on Old Style to
provide the support we all need and to make the whole…

Old Style Daily Sunday 07 May 2023
Good morning folks. Well, what a day it was yesterday. I watched every minute of the coverage, my friends did a park run and a swim first thing whilst I didn't. 😀 After an enormous picky lunch and tea another set of friends arrived to join in the fun. Lots of wine drunk, lots of chat and a huge amount of laughing. Great…

Old Style Daily Coronation Day 06 May 2023
Morning folks. My trip down only took me five and a bit hours. Mostly free-flowing traffic apart from my first 30 miles behind an unfeasibly large and very slow load (part of a lifeboat I think) which was under police escort. Three jammy dodgers ahead making oncoming cars pull in. It all stopped at the next town so the…

Cheap Washing Detergent: Recommendations or False economy? General weekly shop saving tips.
My wife is stubbornly hooked on brand names when it comes to detergents, washing up liquids, dishwasher tabs etc. For me it's not something I eat so a small reduction in quality (or perceived quality) isn't really worth paying more for. I personally want to try the cheaper alternatives. Does anyone have any good…

Diced turkey breat on pan, what did I do wrong?
I mostly cook meat in oven, not really a fan of frying it. So I had a Green Chef receipe, followed instructions - in pan., got it hot, fried the diced Turkey for 5 mins on medium high heat (flpped them over). 5 mins up, added the othrer ingedigants - passata as the sauce, cooked a further 6 mins. Off heat, temp check only…

Hi everyone, I've been awake since 4 with a streaming cold and cough, it's come on so suddenly I hope it's over with before we go away on Wednesday. I'm just hoping it's not covid, more likely it's the cold Esben came home from nursery with this week. It's been a busy week with our northern lights adventure and various…
