Morning All
After yesterday's glorious sunshine it's drizzly and grey this morning but the birds are singing and it's Friday!
Washing was dry yesterday so it's all put away, no ironing which is a bonus. The coal was delivered and the bins emptied - my missing blue bin mysteriously re-appeared yesterday so now I have two as I ordered a new one. We now have to pay for the brown bin to be emptied - £60.00 per year. I'll see how I get on without it but it may be a struggle in the summer.
The plumber came and fixed the pop up bath plug so I had a lovely long bath without having to straddle the plunger that was acting as a plug!
Thinking of you Nanny, hope you're recovering well.
Pleased to hear little Esther is on the mend.
Heard that my colleague is coming back on Monday on a phased return so things won't change for me for a while, just need to get my head down and keep working!
Hope you all have a good Friday, take care. XX10 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.
It's grey and damp here, just for a change - not. Must admit I often think of those warm and sunny days we had in Oz.
Glad you got your washing dry Camelot, I do less ironing than I used to.
Thinking of Nanny, hope you are feeling better Nan.
Also hoping young Esther is recovering.
I wasn't out at all yesterday, I finished some sewing that I started last week, altered the sleeves of one of Dh's coats to make them a bit longer, and tidied my fabric cupboard. There's now 2 bags of fabric to go to the recycle.
I'm going out today for a bit of shopping, might go to a shopping centre a couple of miles away for a change.
Belated happy birthday wishes Ruby, sorry they're late.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.11 -
Morning - there was a glorious sunset last night so I have high hopes for a reasonable day.I didn't stay for the whole of my pool session, I'm definitely 'brewing' something, I managed the warm up then left for a long shower and home. Bed time came early too, I was asleep long before GBM so will catch up with it later today. The day worsened when both my council tax and car tax bills came through. Another expensive month, more things to deal with later today.11

Gers - Hope you feel better soon. I hate Spring for bills - everything seems to come at once.
Nan - hope you’re doing ok
Part time job this morning then there should be time for a dog walk and maybe some chores. Theatre trip this evening, I think it’s only the second time I’ve been out in an evening post Covid, I’d rather be a hermit so already a bit anxious.Happy Friday everyone

Hi everyone,
Things are gradually getting back to normal here. Esben has gone to school in pjs for World Book Day (a day late), his school has banned costumes which we were grateful for.
The scaffolding on the back of the house from the solar panel installation is finally being dismantled so the room is feeling lighter already. I need to call the window cleaner because he said he'd come back and do the back once it was gone. I also want to arrange for the oven to be cleaned, I had it done about 18 months ago and loved the sparkly cleanliness and want that again.
I wasn't feeling great yesterday but feel a lot better today , Steve made dinner but I'm feeling a lot better today so I have a few things to do.
Nanny, I hope you're recovering well.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another dull and nippy start. It was a false alarm on Monday when I really thought Spring was coming .Yesterday there was a really chilly wind blowing.
I have eldest DGD coming this morning and staying for lunch too. She was home last night to deliver DD's Mother's Day gifts as DD is away on the 70's w/e from today. She couldn't cope with living at home again and having all the early morning or late evening trips back and forth to uni and her pt job at Cafe Nero. So she is currently lodging with a uni friend and her mum who live on the doorstep for uni. Tbh I don't really think she is happy at uni full stop but we will see what the end of year 2 brings. There's always something in the family to worry about!
I just want to sort lunch out now and do a quick whizz round with the duster and vacc before she arrives. A partial Friday Tidy!
I hope NAN is convalescing well and soon home again. ((HUGS)) for her and everyone else who needs them - poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all be safe xx

Morning everyone
Snoozer - I had my oven cleaned on Wednesday - it looks like new again.
The children at my school had to dress up as a word - when I picked little one up most of the costumes were homemade or pyjamas. I was pleased to see parents had been discouraged from buying expensive supermarket costumes. Little one was a 'spotty' ladybird - black leggings and jumper and ladybird wings and a headband I bought from a charity shop ages ago. They'd had a visit from a man who works in the local library to read stories.
I'll go down to mam and dads this morning to do his banking and then get the bus straight down to work. I have little one to collect at home time, but will only have her for half an hour or so, until DD gets home from work.
She'll arrive early tomorrow morning and be with me till Sunday afternoon, so that will be nice.
Right I'd better get on. Hope everyone has a good day x

Morning all! Blowy, sunny ish, cold, brr! Just the right weather to get in the garden. I won't be getting in the garden though, I'll be attmepting to save a few hundred pounds by taking the fridge apart...well, ok, not apart, just going to give it a thorough clean everywhere, front, back, upside down, to see if that'll stop it icing up. If not, I spent an hour or more last night looking for the best deal. But obviousy, now I want my oven cleaned too
Only things planned for today are household jobs and some pasta making. And a freezer sort. Because I know how to have maximum fun ladies and gentlemen...I watched a bit of Hairy Bikers this week, the latest one. I can say honestly that it's the first time the death of a celeb has really affected me. Only because I am thinking thoughts of mortality I expect or more accurately, a bit of self pity. All the existential stuff too, you know, where do we come from, where are we going, is there a cuppa at the end of it? You can see the toll it had taken on him, heartbreaking for his family [and greatest friend..] That's why I'm doing today...doing prevents thinking for me...
Nanny, hope you sailed through your op, gird loins for follow ups..dp1, glad she's on the mend, snoozer, for you too. It's also exhausting looking after sick children...Ruby, hope your mum can increase her bull-o-meter after the carpet happenings, well done for stepping up [ not that you wouldn't have but you know...] Izzy, hope you're enjoying your week, I bet your step count is through the roof...allie, I know what you mean. I get the fear now for almost every appointment, not about the appointment itself, but just about showing up on time, preparing beforehand, getting there, etc. But it's always enjoyable when I do do something [that's not a medical apt] so you go girl! [literally] See you all tomorrow and take care all, including the absent...

Thank you all so much for the Birthday wishes yesterday I had a lovely day and was thoroughly spoilt 😃 the pub lunch was excellent and I ate far too much 😬 but was so full I only had a slice of toast in the evening, my OH bought me a pair of walking trainers, I have winter walking boots but nothing for the summer so these are perfect, my DD got me some walking sandals for our holiday which are lovely but a bit too big so we are going to exchange them, I also got wine and chocolates, a purple magnolia tree from mum and some packing cubes which go in your suitcase for holiday they compact everything down and leave you a lot more room, very spoilt and happy 😃
Its a lovely bright day here so wm is on and doing its thing the washing can be hung out for a while, house needs hoovering and a quick tidy.
Im so pleased the GC seem to be on the mend xx
Nan wishing you a speedy recovery xxx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Afternoon all, late today- I've been Friday tidying. Bit dull today, I've just been out to post some cards as they seem to be taking the best part of a week here with 2nd class. Had home made turkey soup for lunch, and got Italian meatball in the sc. I've just realised I've not picked up the meat pack I ordered last night, so we'll need to do that before DGS school pick up.I know what you mean about bills - our council tax (up 5%) has just been delivered along with a letter from Vir gin saying their increase is nearly 9% - think some alterations or cancellation will have to be looked at .Glad you had a good birthday Ruby.Allie, hope you can relax and enjoy your night out.Nan, continued well wishes to you, and any other poorlies.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
