Thanks for starting us off nmlc. The weekend has been very busy, three niblings, two of which are like naughty puppy dogs - bouncing everywhere, noisy and jumping around, and the other more like me. They are all leaving this morning so I'm heading to the holiday cottage shortly to make sure it's left in a good condition and wave them off. And take away the empties! On a sadder note my lovely elderly and frail neighbour in the big house died on Saturday evening, just a week after his 90th birthday and a few weeks after his wife. Very sad.@snoozer - it's so lovely to hear the good news about Esther. I've just skimmed the posts from yesterday so will catch up later.12

Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off nmlc.
We have had a sharp frost here, but it's a lovely crisp sunny morning.
Sorry to hear the sad news of your neighbour Gers
Hope everyone has a good week. x10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. A beautiful sunny, but frosty, start for us and no rain forecast until tonight!
GERS sad news about your neighbour and so soon after his wife. It sounds as though you need a peaceful day today after your visitors over the w/e.
I should really make the effort and trip into town today as I have my shipping order of meds to collect from Bo*ts. If the sun keeps shining I might even extend my little trip along the valley bottom a couple of towns along for a browse. But, like ours, it's not the town it once was and is gradually being taken over by charity shops.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones, sad or lonely. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all. Another heavy frost here last night.
Gers: sorry to hear about your elderly neighbour. Very sad for you. I hope there isn't too much to tidy up at the holiday cottage. Will you see your relatives again this trip?
We had a lovely day with our friend yesterday, although DH decided to take the road through the centre of Northampton, which he soon regretted, due to potholes, temporary traffic lights and general poor road usage. She asked me to bring a melodeon back with me to get checked over so I'll get a friend to look at it at the weekend. I think it plays fine but just looks well used and shabby.
Today I'm off on the first bus I can get to Oxford, just to have a general wander and make good use of my free bus pass. Looks as though I'll need gloves out there though.
Have a good day everyone.11 -
Morning everyone
Sunny and frosty here too.
Gers sorry to hear about your neighbour x
TA and Wickedlady - enjoy your trips out
Back to work at lunchtime for me....I'll get the bus down. Monday is usually a nice quiet afternoon.
I finished my book yesterday afternoon and had a nice chat with DD in Germany.
Right better get on, hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning all
Not raining here for now but more due this afternoon and tomorrow 🙄. Robs mum phoned me last night to tell me she had tested positive for covid so that’s him off for a few days, she only had one test left and had to save that for later in the week as the people who bath Rob need a negative test before they will go in the house so she doesn’t know if Rob has it or not although he seemed ok, the other lady I have today has also cancelled so an extra day off for me.
I made some soup yesterday roasted pepper and lentil and the leaves from a cauli, I also made cauli cheese and had too much sauce so put the extra in the soup - it’s delicious so we will have that for dinner tonight with some crusty bread.
I need to have a hoover through and a quick tidy and put the washing away, I have put a wash on this morning so that can go on the airer.
Gers glad you had a good weekend and I’m sorry about your friend xx
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
Morning all. Sunny but cold but I think I can live with that. No plans today except do some internet searching for kitchen layouts and ovens. Finally had the dimensions from the architects so I can start looking. We alreay agree on the flooring so that's one job done. A trip to ikea will be on the cards too, I want to see their kitchens although so far, I am not impressed by the sinks. I did buy one for my flat and it was ok, but I want something different so I may end up getting someone to make it. It's not that big so it's not going to be complicated or anything. So that's my day...and also, I am really craving some lasagne but a pork one, so making that is on the cards for this week too.Gers, sorry to hear that, but glad your relatives were joyful. WL, enjoy your day out! It's been a while since I was there for a wander, love the ashmolean but I did fancy the anthropological museum too, never been there. Ruby, have a nice impromptu day off...Hugs n stuff for anyone who wants one, take care all...Shampoo? No thanks, I'll have real poo...9

Morning all, well I've had a busy morning ! I stripped the bed and then we had a call to say that Mr Fix It's uncle has passed away (97) He was the last of his DM's brothers and sisters and I had known him since I was 10, way before I knew Mr Fix It 😢
We decided to go out to get petrol and call in to check the van, all ok there, but on the way home I had a call from my anesthetist to tell me to stop taking one of my meds as my sodium levels are low and re-start another med if I have some. I'll have a search for them but it was last Aug since I last took them, if I don't have any they will get me some from the hospital pharmacy. Why can't everything go smoothly ? I have put a wash on and the bedding will go in next but for now I'm sitting with a cup of coffee and trying to get my breath back.
Hope everyone is well, especially little Esther.
Take care all

Hi everyone,
Just a quick update, Esther is doing well and they were able to come home for the night. They are doing the MRI scan this afternoon.
We are feeling more positive that it was a result of the gastro she had last week, so fingers crossed.
Esben has been a little star for me and Steve.
Gers, I'm sorry to hear about your neighbour.10 -
Quick late one here
Glad Esther has improved Snoozer
Gers - how sad so quickly after his wife. Your niblings sound like fun!
Work done - a bit of a crazy few hours. Managed a four mile walk around the lanes with B-dog.
Done a bit of jigsaw with DM and consequently got nothing else done that I had planned!!
