Ford Transit Custom - suspected wet belt failure
Yesterday, one of my company vans broke down. Driving as usual, the brakes appeared to be malfunctioning, moments later 'low oil pressure' warning notification, quickly followed by engine cutting out. RAC called, operative diagnoses suspected wet belt failure within minutes of arriving, apparently it's a common fault (I…

Gear Box Failure on Ford Mondeo Hybrid Any Advice Please
I have a 5 year old car, 55,000 miles on clock. It's a petrol and battery hybrid. One month out of warranty (lockdown chaos) it was diagnosed with gear box failure. Ford dealership said they do not repair and £6,500 to replace. I found a company who initially claimed they could do a repair but then told me due to parts and…

No Claims Discount - what is it really about?
I declared my car SORN for just a month over two years and realized I lost my full No Claims Discount because I chose not to drive during that time. It seems unjust that one's No Claims Discount (NCD) should be forfeited, which one paid additional payments over the years to protect, simply because one declared a Statutory…

Car insurance quote changing from price comparison when buying
I went to a price comparison site (comparethemarket) to get a quote for car insurance. The cheapest (from Kwikfit) was for £350. I then clicked through and was immediately shown a price of £380. I would understand the price difference if I'd been asked some additional questions on the Kwikfit site or changed some answers -…

"...calling from diesel claim..."
Am I the only one getting a lot of these calls? They're coming to my landline from totally random UK phone numbers, either landlines from around the country or mobiles. Sometimes the caller ID comes up as "nuisance?", more often not. Always the same script - bored voice, always Indian accented (probably a subcontinental…

I took a right turn onto the main road, and an oncoming car from my right hand side, swiped the front of my front right side bumper. Their damage was on their front left wheel and wing. EV Public Charging Rip Off and Chaos
Isn’t it about time someone with a high media profile aggressively championed the burgeoning number of EV drivers over the continuing public EV charging chaos and rip offs that continue in this country? Buying an EV- is now the best time?
I'm quite impressed by the current market where EV's have depreciated 50% after 12 months (I'd prefer a 2 year old one that had depreciated 75% though :) ) So is it a good time to buy one? My 2008 Renault Nissan is starting to show it's age, there might be a couple of MOTs left in it before The Welder needs to come out,…
