How is your windscreen?

I've noticed, with the sun coming out this week, that the windscreen on my 5 month old EV has some pit marks, those small dots that aren't really chips but nevertheless show up in the right condition. One or two are just above the steering wheel so in my eyeline and, now that I've noticed them, are irritating rather than distracting.
They are of course too small to fill or repair, as one might a full windscreen chip, so I'll have to swallow down my OCD and deal with them on sunny days! But make me feel better, what kind of condition is your windscreen in? Does it look like it's been sandblasted now the sun is making more of an appearance?

My 13 year old Cmax screen is covered with tiny chips, not normally a problem unless the sun is at a certain angle. Just passed MOT OK so not planning on doing anything about it.
Wonder if there is an easy DIY product to deal with this, I tried some polish stuff but after doing a small area for ages it didn't seem to make any difference?0 -

I have had some success with that on very small and not deep scratches. It does take a fair bit of effort (electrical assistance is helpful) and it won't work on a deep scratch or blemish.
I don't know if it would work for the OP's issue.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
I took my to halfords and they filled in the chips for £40 and gave me form to say all good for MOT which i keep in the glove compartment if ever I get stopped. I booked it in online.21k savings no debt0

It's common/normal. They are always more noticeable and annoying to the brain a few months after having a new car and the original unblemished glass. After a while you tend to habituate to them and not notice so much.
It's always worth periodically cleaning your blades to reduce scratching.
Might be worth having an eye test if not had one recently in case you are little nearsighted which may make them more noticeable.
Also if they are just behind the steering wheel you maybe have scope for raising your seat to avoid the particular ones.0 -
I think it is largely down to the condition of our roads now. For the first 45 years of my motoring life I never had a broken or even chipped windscreen, in the last 3 years I've had to replace 2 broken windscreens, and both current cars are chipped, (and I do a lot less miles than I used to)..."It's everybody's fault but mine...."0

The MOT standard is very clear and simple.

Outside the wiper swept area? No issues.
Inside the wiper swept area but outside Zone A? 40mm.
Inside Zone A? 10mm
For MOT purposes, what the tester sees on your glass is the only thing that's important.
If you get stopped by police, the first question is why... Then it's what the policeman sees.2
