Octopus vs eon
Currently on octopus 15m fixed august 24 v1. With the news of the exclusive Eon fix to MSE, wondering whether it’s worth the switch. The comparison reckons I’ll save £75 a year after cashback, but hesitant due to octopus’s much better reputation. What are people’s thoughts?

OVO SMART METER EMAIL
My elderly mother in law has had several requests from OVO stating she needs to make an appointment with them to have a Smart Meter fitted or her supply would be cut off. She has x2 meters for her THTC set up, which she had done a number of years ago when her husband was alive. I'm not sure if this can be done or legal.…

Who's Name Has To Be On Utility Bills? Occupying House With Parent
I live with my father and I'm in the process of buying it from him due to his inability to repay his mortgage. It's either that or we get stuck renting for the rest of our lives. All the utility bills are currently in his name, and he's the majority user of them (he's a bit of a waster). I'd like to know what bills have to…

Can't get Next Fixed 16m V1
I've logged into the cheap energy club to try and switch my tariff to the new Next Fixed 16m V1. Unfortunately I get a message saying I can't get the tariff. I'm currently with Sainsburys which is part of Eon Next but I thought it was available for existing and new customers? Has anyone else had the same issue?

Phase 3 electric Suppliers Domestic vs Business
We recently had 3 phase installed at our home, while we were having building work done. Reason mainly 'future-proofing' re electric car charging & partner wants to do welding etc. Plus the 3 phase wire was on a pole was in our garden so helped minimise the cost! The problem I have is getting comparative quotes from…

Has anyone had any luck trying to get a comparison and see if it's worth changing to a fixed tariff. Electricity usage is 5473…

Martin: Should you fix your energy bills? 80% are on the Price Cap but you can fix now and save
If you're on the Energy Price Cap – like eight in 10 households in England, Scotland and Wales aar– your bills are expected to rise by between 3% and 5% from April. But by locking onto a fix now, you can typically save 7% straight away and protect yourself from future hikes for 16 months, as MoneySavingExpert.com founder…

Fixed energy tariffs
My provider will only offer me a fixed rate tariff if I buy other products from them. Is this legal, shouldn’t a fixed rate be available to all non debt accounts?

Loyal Octopus 12M Fixed March 2024 v1

RTS switch off enquiry
I have an RTS meter with day/night readings, I was on a dual tariff initially but switched to a single tariff many years ago although the meter was never changed. It hasn't caused a billing problem as my supplier just adds the two readings together. I am obviously aware that the RTS Signal will be switched off soon and my…

Annual spread of over/under balance on Gas and Electric
I was recently, well maybe a couple of months ago, watching Martin on TV saying that you should be two monthly payments in credit at the end of November (it may have been October) for your annual Gas and Electric account to balance out across the year. I was in credit by this amount around the end of Oct/Nov but at the if…

Octopus times for Night & Day Rate
Hi I live in Cornwall and use Octopus variable tariff and a smartmeter. The times quoted in writing to me by Octopus for day rate are 00:30 - 03:30 and 08:30 - 22:30 and for night rate are 03:30 - 08:30 and 22:30 - 00:30. Having a change to day rate during the night seems a bit odd. This has been queried with Octopus but…
