How often do you switch and do you profit from it?
Just interested to know how often people switch their gas and electricity providers? Do you profit purely by cheaper tariffs? Do you use cashback? And how much have you 'profited'? :D

unknown gas supplier
just after some advice about what sort of bill I might expect and how I can check if this is correct. I moved into a new property in September '09 and the gas meter reading was 7320. There was no supplier (despite numerous calls no one was willing to admit ownership). I changed supplier (despite not having a supplier!) in…

Has anyone regretted removing prepayment meter?
I've had a prepayment meter almost all of my adult life. The first houses I moved into (council or HA) all had prepayment meters in them already and I just kinda got used to having them. I've had the one in this house for over 20 years now. The theory was that we were going to rent this house out at one point and it seemed…

eon - charging commercial elec charges
Hi I've got the unfortunate situation of owning a pub that's closed due to business failure. E-On have been charging commercial rate for their electricity even though the business closed in 2006. In 2007 the building was taken off the rating system because of change of use on part of it and it is undergoing 'substantial…

British Gas Cold Calling

At the time I was already considering…

Now, contrary to popular belief I loved my key meter and never spent more than about £25 per month, running my tumble dryer at full blast! I have now gone over to Southern Electric on their non standing charge tariff. Boy, how much fun…

BG websaver6 electricity is cheaper than websaver5?
My understanding was that only gas prices have gone down in websaver 6. But comparing the economy 7 tarriffs (electricity) between websaver 5 & 6, it seems that even electricity rates have gone down in the new tarriff, atleast in London. saver 5 rates: 26.177p per kWh (day) 10.285p per kWh (day) above 500 kWh p.a 3.881p…

switching suppliers
I decided to switch from Npower to OVO last November through a switch site (not Uswitch). I was contacted by Npower and offered a better deal and they said they would deal with OVO for me. OVO then said I had to pay £60 to get out so I had no choice but to stay. As soon as this contract is up I intend to move away from OVO…
