Clinically vulnerable
From last week, over 70s & CEV are receiving invitations but is there any order? Eg, are the over 70s being sent for first and then the CEV or are they mixing it up? I know of quite a few in my area ( Cheshire) of over 70s that have been vaccinated but none of those are CEV.

So my son was supposed to be getting married in April 2020. Due to covid it was postponed until April 2021, however the venue are asking for more money, double than what they were paying. Can they do that? It looks like it will be postponed again to a future date but the venue is asking again to pay extra,

NHS app told mum to self isolate for 7 days
Why is it 7 days and not 10? Mum has obviously been in close contact with someone who’s tested positive, does this mean the last contact with the infected person would have been Thursday, and this is why it’s 7 days and not 10? Mum works in a hospital and does two lateral flow tests a week, the last one was done Thursday…

How do you prove your landlord is NOT your partner!
Hi. My daughter has been forced to claim Universal Credit as she has missed out on the SEISS grants (despite paying taxes being in paid employment for 10 years) She has since had to move into a house (the landlord lives there) as a lodger paying £400 a month. She contacted UC who told her it would be difficult for her to…

Gym not extending/freezing pre-paid membership during Covid lockdowns (Advice on breach of contract)
Hi Sorry, this is a long-winded one. In Feb 2020 I purchased a yearly membership at my local independent gym in cash for £240. I did this because it worked out to £20pm rather than £36pm if paid by cash monthly or £28pm monthly by direct debit. (Was a money-saving idea at the time). Obviously, the first lockdown (4 months)…

Renewing Car Insurance during lockdown
Hi My mother in law's car insurance is due for renewal soon. She is 72 years old and stuck indoors owing to lockdown. Wondered if anyone has any guidance regarding renewing her policy if she is unable to drive. I think third party, fire and theft might be an option worth exploring with current insurers. She can't declare a…

Zero Hours, Tests & Jabs
I was just looking to understand opinions on something. My wife started a new job in a nursing care home. It's zero hours, but she gets "enough" hours to make it something rather than nothing. Most shifts that my wife gets are 10am til 2pm. A while back they introduced weekly coronavirus tests, which seems sensible. PCR…

Why has the Furlough Scheme been updated?
Before lockdown 2.0 the furlough scheme was updated to cover people who had been employed up to 30th October. I started a new job in December after lockdown 2.0 and my employer has said they cannot claim furlough for me because the rules haven’t been updated .... I was confident that maybe this was just something that…
