Hi everyone,

Wonder if any vaccine trial volunteers have experience of travelling with the Covid Pass? Mine's doing something funny all of a sudden and I have to travel to Greece in 3 days!

I was on the trial for the AstraZeneca vaccine and got my first dose in June 2020. Second dose in April 2021 when my turn came on the national rollout, after which I was considered fully vaccinated. (I definitely had the Covid-19 vaccine on the trial and not the control vaccine; they "unblinded" my trial details just before my 2nd dose.)

My NHS app updated with all the info in early July this year (i.e. it showed BOTH doses separately, all good) and I printed it out at the time and it showed the record of both doses side by side. But obviously that pass is now expired. But I just went to print it out again to prepare to travel and it is now only showing the second dose.

It does say "2 of 2" in the information about the second dose but I am really worried that since it doesn't show both doses they won't let me travel and/or enter the country.

My partner (who was not on the trial but had doses "normally", in Feb & April) has printed out his pass and both doses are showing for him.

From a bit of Googling it looks as if the system won't produce you any kind of pass at all if you are only partly vaccinated, so logically the fact I have a pass at all should convince them that I have had both doses, but I can't find definitive proof of this.

Anyway I hope someone can tell me the same thing happened to them and it turned out okay...

Ah well, I guess it's a bit niche...

No progress on this yet. I will update in due course, in case anyone else has the same trouble.

Update on return home: I did have to do some explaining on the way out (when checking in at Heathrow), but they were fineabout it once I showed them all my docs.

On entering Greece they didn't ask to see any vaccination proof. On re-entering UK I only had to show passport, PLF and negative test, so all fine there too.

Hi there, I’ve just realised I’m in the same situation (double jabbed but only the second dose showing).

I’ve checked with the GP and they’ve said they can’t update it in that time.

Did you have any trouble having only one QR code? I’m hoping given that it says ‘dose 2 of 2f’ it should be fairly straightforward..

if you have printed your certificate you could do a dummy UK PLF, the online form asks if you have a QR code and you scan it in with the phone camera.  If it accepted you move on to the next part of the form.
When i was doing mine I scanned the QR of the first dose by mistake and it caused an error " not fully vaccinated" or similar and warned that I would have to show my proof at immigration.  I submitted a second PLF with the correct code OK.

Thanks - just tried that and it seemed to work. Do they scan the bar codes in the airport?

Could be worrying about nothing but rather be safe than sorry..

Ive been away twice with passenger locator forms and tests.  At departure in both directions the airline have checked (but not scanned) my vaccination certificate,  passenger locator forms and where appropriate negative test certificate.  This is done before security and (easyjet) give you a little form to use at the departure gate to prove your docs have already been checked
On arrival in foreign parts the same paperwork will be checked and might also be scanned.

I have returned home using the electronic gates and on both occasions there were no checks on my covid paperwork.   I have an idea  that the passport number is cross checked with the online PLF and only needs a manual check if there are errors.

Hi, sorry, I've only just seen this. I had no trouble in the end once I explained the situation to the check-in assistant. I also happened to have a printout from a few months before which showed both doses, which I showed her - I don't know if that helped, but she was mostly saying "well it does say dose 2 of 2" in her move towards acceptance! So hopefully you should be okay. She didn't actually scan the QR code.

We can't be the only ones who this is happening to so I would imagine you'll be fine. But I appreciate it just adds to the stress of getting through the airport.

Maddeningly, both doses reappeared on my app a couple of weeks after I got back from holiday so it was only when I really needed them that they weren't there...  :| But it's worth checking yours each day before you leave in case they reappear!
