NHS Scotland Covid Status app

I have downloaded this app and tried to register. It is clunky beyond belief and failed every time. Every review of the app says the same - failed.
Has anyone at all had any success? If so, what did you do?

Can't even try to register as I don't have a passport or photo DL. Am verified with UK gov and have on line access to my printed vaccination cert but can't register for the new half arsed Scottish app. Mainly 1 star ratings on Play Store !Typical SNP government failure. Launched only 11.5 hours before it is compulsory to use and it is not working https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-58756079The Scottish government said the volume of people trying to access the app may be responsible for the issues.Obviously someone with a degree in stating the bleedin' obvious

OK, I finally got there and am now registered at last. Far and away the most challenging registration I have ever encountered and I consider myself to be very computer literate. Make sure you have your CHI number (know what that is?) to hand and plenty of spare time.
Particularly galling and annoying since everyone in Scotland who is vaccinated is already registered on the far superior vacs.nhs.scot website, also from NHS Scotland, which displays exactly the same information and is accessed by a simple user name and password. Why two parallel systems?0 -

Why two parallel systems? And where will you NOT find your CHI number ? .......... on your covid vaccination appointment letter or your printed covid status document. Unless you have regular letters from the NHS it will be difficult for the majority to find. The incompetence of this government knows no bounds.

Because an app on your phone is probably seen as the best way to prove vaccine status in the longer term (& possibly be used for travel too), and the downloadable version from the website was only an interim solution until they had an app. And while the paper copy you can get sent to you via that website will still be used for those who can't use the app, but I *think* the downloadable version won't be valid in future?Particularly galling and annoying since everyone in Scotland who is vaccinated is already registered on the far superior vacs.nhs.scot website, also from NHS Scotland, which displays exactly the same information and is accessed by a simple user name and password.
