Furlough, I need advice.
Hi I need some advice please on furlough that I can’t find an answer for anywhere. My company has used the flexible furlough scheme and sent everyone a letter stating we are all on flexible furlough. This is fine, however my role is never going to be furloughed and I have never been placed on furlough. The issue we are…

Benefits
Hi there, I don’t know what else to do. My partner lost his job last year due to coronavirus and hasn’t found a job since despite trying his best. He worked for 8 months prior but did not earn enough to pay tax. He signed on for ESA, however they’ve now turned around to tell him he’s not entitled to any help as there’s a…

Seiss and pension
I have been self-employed hairdresser for many years and have qualified for the 3 seiss grants so far. In December I started receiving my state pension. As I am unable to currently work will I be eligible to claim 4th seiss payment due in March if I am only working part-time for rest of the year ? Thank you.

Repayment of SEISS (Self-Employed Income Support Scheme)
I'm a self-employed electrician and my recent income (since Christmas) has been affected due to some requirement for me to home school the kids. (My wife covers the vast majority of the week, but not all as she has work commitments too). I did feel this was a significant loss in my earnings against what it would have been…

House hunting during COVID - aerosol transmission
How dangerous is house visiting (with a view to potentially buying) during the pandemic? Visits are generally short (15 minutes) and legal but I’m concerned about potential aerosol transmission - for example if the occupant has Covid and lives there, there could be a high amount of aerosols in the air and low ventilation…

Another support bubble question.
I realise this is a bit of a forlorn hope on here at times , but if people could stick to facts without any Covid outrage or judgement that would be appreciated. Person is single but has a lodger who they barely see - cross paths in the kitchen once in a while but they are a lodger, not a friend or any sort of emotional…

Furlough
Hi I am currently on furlough , but I am not receiving my wages on time it and have been waiting 5 weeks to be paid. My employer says that the accountant is dealing with this and hasn’t received any of the furlough as of yet. This was the same in the previous lockdown , where I would be waiting weeks for my wages as they…

Co-op Bank not so ethical on Bounce Back Loans?
I've
always run my business via a Co-op Bank current account which prevented me accessing a Bounce Back Loan (BBL) unless I opened a business account. Fair enough, I thought, but after many, many weeks of delays, indefinite phone-holding, and requests for documentation - by which point my earnings had
reached zero - I…

Furlough
Hi, my wife was put on furlough Mid-december, then at the beginning of January gave her contractual notice in due to her retirement on the 22nd Jan, she has just had her final wage which excludes any furlough payment, which we heard is a new government decision(no furlough if you're given your notice in) seems a little…

Can we form a support bubble between two cities?
Hi everyone, We have been homeschooling since lockdown and I have been working full time from home. My wife has been looking after our 6-month old baby and we are both really struggling with everything at the moment. Half-term begins on 15 February and we need some respite. I have therefore been looking into support…

Flexible furlough - how should my payroll work it out
Apologies if this has been answered - I’ve tried every combination of words I can think of in google and can’t get a definite answer. I work 12.5 hours a week, I’m furloughed for 10 of them. I’ve questioned how wages will be worked out and the way they are doing it seems...wrong. I wonder if anyone actually knows? The…

Notice Period: Annual leave or furlough?
I've been working 1 day per week (7 hours) for the past three months on flexi-furlough and being paid 80% for the hours I don't work. At the end of January, my employer said that they were going to up my hours to 3 days per week (21 hours) for February but within a matter of days, I accepted a new job offer. I handed in my…

Having Covid whilst on annual leave
Hi all, im after some advice, I recently returned from 14 days annual leave to which I spent 10 days isolating due to Covid in the family, are we as employees entitled to claim any of that back as sick leave or is it just unlucky and a straight up no? Thanks!

My symptoms, could it be COVID?
Hi, I have a cough which I would describe as a chesty cough, no phlegm. I did have it constantly for an hour, then since I have had it sparingly, but I feel a slight irritation in my chest as I breath... I have also got pressure in my face, particularly around the cheek area. I am susceptible to getting a bad cough every…

COVID-19 and Speeding Prosecutions
Hi I recently completed the documentation relating to a speeding offence, which I do not dispute. However the local police force have stated that I am not eligible for for a Fixed Penalty Offer as the DVLA say that my driving licence has expired, and the case will have to go to the Magistrates Court. However the UK Gov has…

Help and Advice regarding Benefits
My daughters boyfriend graduated from Uni in 2019 and went into his first job, in live music. In 2020 he was made redundant after 7 months due to Cornovirus. Since then he has been having to live off savings to survive, pay his rent etc. But that isn't going to last much longer. He has applied for job seekers allowance but…

Self employment grant 3
When assessing if your earnings were substantially down is this for the quarter or year to date, and should I have included my previous 2 grants in my earnings? If so, can I retract my claim? Thanks for advice.

Cannot be furloughed by new employer
Hello. I need help and I'm not sure where to turn or who to ask. Back in December I was offered a position with a new company so I accepted the job and handed in my 4 weeks notice with my old employer. Unfortunately a week later the country went into yet another lockdown, my new employer contacted me to say they would not…
