72 hour pre-departure test to USA

The statement from the BBC says 'under new rules announced by the White House, vaccinated people who have had a negative test in the 72 hours before travelling will be allowed to enter.'  Can anyone help with the type of 'test' required and where can I get one?

There's some very helpful information in this government link -

It's due to begin 8 November.

There are too many unknowns at the moment, eg the USA hasnt yet said it'll accept the NHS Vaccination Status as proof of being vaccinated yet.

At present, for those that can enter the USA the requirement is for "any" (probably are some limitations but as much about the language of the certification etc) and therefore last time leaving a non-UK/EU country we were getting out lateral flow tests and plenty of yanks in the queue doing the same for their flights to the USA... you could pay more for a PCR test but no requirement to.

Also currently trying to work this out have flights on the 15th and it just says "Covid Test"  the CDC website is a bit more helpful and lists PCR and others when google return results of antigen tests.   Also when looking at testing websites a lot of the state antigen test is good for travel to usa
