Getting full fibre installed at my house in 2 weeks. Shell say I need to give Sky my notice to terminate (I'm not in a contract currently). Doesn't it just cancel automatically on the day it switches over? I don't want to give notice and then new full fibre can't be installed for whatever reason (no idea what's involved…

Any success haggling with Plusnet?
anyone had any success haggling with Plusnet? I've tried unsuccessfully but was wondering whether to give them another call.

Is this legal these days?
My contract is up with TalkTalk next month so I was just looking on their site and for the Fibre 35 (I actually get 37mb) for new customers it is £27 a month for 18 months. I then clicked "if you are an existing customer check broadband deals" and there they are telling me they want £34 a month to extend my contract for 24…

NOW tv higher monthly price.
I've just clicked through from the MSE Broadband deal finder page where NOW Tv Super Fibre broadband is quoted as £23 per month only to be taken to the NOW website where it's shown as £24 per month. Is this just that MSE haven't kept up with NOW altering their price or could it be a misleading advert?

Virgin contract cancellation, can I sign up again as a 'new customer' afterwards?
My contract with Virgin ends in January after an 18 month introductory price offer. I'm going to send a letter to cancel the contract with the appropriate 30 days notice. Then that's that. Virgin are the only provider of fibre broadband where I live with speeds I 'need'. So after my contract is terminated, can I join them…

ADSL Filder and internet cable
I have been attempting to set up a new Netgear router to my desktop computer. The cable which comes with the router to connect to my ADSL filter appears to be 8 pin and is therefore not compatible. The cable for my old router to connect to the filter is 4 pin so is not compatible with the new router. I cannot work out if I…

Want to Switch BB, anyone using Shell, Onestream or Pop
I am currently with Nowtv BB and they have been ok, only got the Brilliant BB 11mb so not high user. My contract ends next month and there is a big price increase. I have tried a bit of negotiating but not got much to offer. The deals on this website for Shell, Onestream and Pop look very inviting. Trying to find reviews…

Want to Leave BT Broadband but need landline
How can I leave BT to go with another broadband provider and keep my landline? Plusnet and Sky don't offer a landline?

Virgin media:(
Who's with virgin media here? My monthly bill went from £37 to £62. Last time when this happened I phoned them and complained. It's so annoying considering they're offering £30 per month for new customers. I will phone them again but I'm seriously thinking about leaving them even if I have to settle for a slower provider.…

Cancelled Sky, can i expect a call from retentions
Hello MSE members. I am currently with Sky and have Ultrafast 145mbs at £32pmMy contract is finishing in mid December. They have offered me a renewal for the same speed at £38pm. Need advice with my Vodafone Broadband and VOIP
So I used to be with plusnet and they were happy to continue giving me phone and broadband until they take down the copper cables in 2025 or wherever its happening, but it was more than what others were offering so I moved to Vodafone under the explicit agreement that they could transfer my number over to their VOIP…

Broadband switching. Feels like a cartel.
Recently switched from Virgin Media to Sky. Has taken 5 months during which time VM charged me their standard rate. I tried to change b4 my contract ended, but was unable to contact VM at first, then Sky dragged their heels over installation. Thinking of complaining to Ombudsman. Anyone else had similar frustrations?

Vodafone Broadband - Claiming voucher
I signed up with Vodafone in June 2023 for their Full Fibre 500 deal, with a "reward" to be claimed a few months after connection. My connection was late June 2023 so by my reckoning I should have received a "Claim Reward" email last month - so far I have received nothing. My question is: From whom does the rewards email…

Shell Energy broadband customer? Check you're not overpaying
If you're a Shell Energy broadband and home phone customer, you should urgently check you're not overpaying, as the provider has been fined £1.4 million by the regulator for failing to notify around 65,000 customers that their contracts were ending. The firm has also refunded more than 6,000 customers who were overcharged…

best broadband provider
My BT broadband deal ends soon so I'm looking around. I'm hesitant to leave as I've been with them for several years and (touch wood) never really had problems with reliability (apart from the occasional outage that lasts a minute at most). I'm in an area that hasn't had full fiber and there is no estimate on when this…

Forced onto Fibre
My mum started with dementia a few years ago, so I installed some cameras to keep an eye on her. I upgraded her phone contract to include broadband at the same time. She now has a full time carer, so we don't need broadband anymore, but I kept it going just in case. My mum's phone contract is up and I found a new deal to…
