Hyperoptic - delayed activation
Having a terrible time with Hyperoptic - I ordered broadband to start mid Oct which should have been plug and play as the property previously had Hyperoptic internet years earlier. On the start date it did not work at all and after some troubleshoooting, they stated they had to visit the property for the next step - with…

Talk Talk Openreach
I was getting very very low download speed (consistantly 0.07mps when it used to be 3-4mbs) for 12mths. I checked the wiring and changed the filter but nothing changed. I raised a case in Aug 22 Talk Talk asked me to send in some readings which I did. They asked if I wanted an engineer then but I didn't want to call an…

Full fibre just became available for my street, looking at my options. (Sky, Plusnet, others?)
This has come just in time for 'Black Friday' offers (which are often just 'November' offers it seems) I'm currently with Sky on their FTTC package, out of minimum term. We were on the lower tier back when they had two (36mbps and 72mbps), when they did away with tiers and put everyone on the same (72mbps) we were told for…

Setting up new Broadband after relative passed away
Hi, early stages of investigating this at the moment - Family member recently passed so sorting out affairs. Their home is not being sold yet as in the ownershiop of next of kin, so want to keep utilities and services running for now. They were subscribed to a Sky phone, broadband and TV package (as some expense... but…

Starlink
My current Sky internet is very rubbish although they say up to 67 MBS realistically it is in 37 -40 range which is not much issue in normal day but every so often the speed drops to low 20 and that is when problem start. I now do lot of work from home zoom/Teams and was looking for a reliable internet. What are people…

Out of contract and only have one ISP
I have been out of contract for several months but didn't realize it till now.I am in rural North Wales and we do not have fiber of any flavor. We have ADSL, but not ADSL2 and it isn't really reliable. On a very good day (never a full week) we can get between 2 - 2.5 mbps, but mostly it is between 1,0 - 1.75mbps. I have…

Should I continue with Virgin
My Virgin contract ends in four days, they've offered me £59 for internet and channels. Can I get this or just internet cheaper elsewhere? Can I block payment with bank as I told the girl over phone if it's end of contract? I have a phone with o2, alongside Virgin, I guess I'll need to cancel that separately.

BROADBAND
Ir recently struck me that staying loyal to a broadband provider is expensive. You start at a (comparitively) low rate and each year they hike it by inflation plus. By switching you reset to a lower figure which then increases by inflation plus. That means the loyal customer has his price increased on the previous years…

Paying for FTTP install
Hi, im trying to find some help with getting FTTP installed. I live in a cup-de-sac where every other house can get FTTP through virgin media or a selection of other providers from a line installed by city fibre. My house sits back from the road and both virgin and city fibre have deemed it uneconomical to connect to my…

Broadband repairs - am I being unreasonable?
Hello I had a broadband installation in the summer which seemed to be done as a rushed job. They refused to install the equipment in a discreet part of the room, slapping a large router and the wiring to the middle of the wall in the middle of the room, and told me it wasn’t possible to put anywhere else. At the same time…

Digital Voice and area dialling codes
I have Digital Voice provided by Zen Internet. When I dial local numbers with the area access code 01676, I must dial 01676 in addition to the local number. However, when my family dials the local doctors' surgery, the 01676 prefix is unnecessary. Can anyone explain the reason for this?

Fibre to the property (FTTP) - inconvenience
My road and pavement is currently being dug up (apparently by "Virgin") for fibre - I am assuming that Virgin will not let other providers use their fibre - so we will have to go through the inconvenience over and over again when BT/TalkTalk and the others go through the procedure ?Why can't someone realise that the fibre…

Advice renewing Sky broadband price/deal
Hi Guys, I must admit I’m not the most tech savvy, but I’m looking to reduce a few household bills and I’m looking at how much I currently pay Sky for my broadband - and if I can get a better deal/price elsewhere. I’ve been with Sky for years - I spoke with them on Thursday and they have advised I currently pay £39.50 a…

Virgin Media ludicrous proposal
I pay £44/month for Virgin Media. Now they want to reduce that to £38/month but increase it annually by the RPI + 4%. What kind of business plays such a silly game? Should I take them up on their offer? Presumably they can increase the £44 if they want, so I suppose I should. But the fact that they are making such an offer…

Broadband issues
We recently took out a contract with Vodafone for broadband and its working well apart from we are unable to schedule blocking our children's devices on the router. We can only block all Internet access throughout and have to do this manually. I presumed all providers allow this all our previous providers have. To leave…

How to get cheaper virgin deal or go elsewhere
Hi, Have been with virgin since they started in this area. A long time. Couple of years ago, I managed to get my tv/phone /broadband package down to £55 per month. As my deal finishes with them soon they informed me it would go up to £75. I haggled and got it down to £69 but still a fair increase. Other than changing the…

BT Sport
Plusnet added CPI plus 3.9% (14.4%) as with many internet providers from the 1st April. I was charged £10 for BT Sport for which they added the 14.4%. However, when they discontinued BT Sport from July they have only taken £10 off the bill, so customers are still paying the 14.4% on the £10. Has anyone else had the same…
