Hello everyone,
I want to switch from Virgin Media landline+broadband to Vodafone.
Will vodafone just need to change the VM router and wall socket or do they need to lay a new cable? Or will it plug into a 20+ years old BT socket?
Many thanks.

Virgin use their own infrastructure which will be completely separate from what Vodafone will use. What are Vodafone offering, eg is it FTTP or something else?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

Vodafone use City Fibre and Openreach, in areas with both they prioritise City Fibre …no one but Virgin uses Virgin network so you definitely will not simply connect a router to the VM infrastructure.VF will use Openreach copper ( if that’s all that’s available ) or Openreach FTTP if that available and City Fibre isn’t , or City Fibre FTTP if that is available, both the FTTP options will need a new optical line installed, if no FTTP from OR or CF , then VF will use the existing Openreach copper cable infrastructure, what you call the ‘BT socket’ , when you order from VF they should know what’s in your area even if you don’t .0
