Son moving into a house in a few weeks where there has been super fast broadband (looking at the sockets in the wall). He’s moving in on a Sunday. Is there any way of ensuring that the broadband is up and running on the day he moves in? House will be empty for a few weeks before he moves in. Will a router be posted or does an engineer need to attend? If a router is posted, can it be posted to an alternate address beforehand so he can just plug it in on the day?
Thanks.
Thanks.

We need some more information really. The sockets you've found on the wall, does it have a name or model number (e.g. Openreach).

Once he signs up he can speak to whatever the company is and ask if they will deliver the router to another address.

Look like FTTP. Sign up should be quick as everything is already there. Plusnet are cheap and no issues at all1

Obvioulsy he can check providers for the property and go with what meets his needs/budget.

Many routers are designed to be posted through a letter box so might not be an issue?0
