Kenwood Cheffette A340 - Help please
I have just bought a secondhand A340. It works perfectly but was quite grubby. I have given it a good scrub but wondered if it is OK to put the glass/pyrex mixing bowl in the dishwasher? Any ideas please? I don't want to break it before I've even used it! Thanks x

Kenwood chef ice cream attachement...
Hi All Been reading the many posts about the various old kenwood chef models. I think most people who have tried a few models tend to gravitate to their trusty 701a and it looks like you can pick them up for a bargain on ebay too. I think I would like a 701a over the 901 for breadmaking and also like the idea of making my…

New to food processors
I picked up a Braun Multipractic food processor for a £1 at the local fair yesterday. It works perfectly - has the slicing/shredding disc and the french fries disc but not the cheese grater one. (Identified the parts from the Braun website) Also has a juicer attachment and a few other parts that I can't identify but are…

Help me with my smelly loo!!
Due to 10 year old DS frequently missing the loo over the years (because he doesn't concentrate when going) my tiny toilet stinks. I've tried everything I can think of on the floor but the smell remains, fresh air doesn't work, bleach, no amount of mopping has helped, anyone any ideas on how to neutralise the smell?

Dress disaster overted the OS way
Hi, Thought I'd share my recent experience (and a lesson about buying on ebay!). I've just been to a wedding, and thinking I was being both organised and thrifty bought my dress secondhand on ebay last summer. The dress arrived and it was lovely but seemed quite tight, so thought I'd have to loose a few pounds. It went…

Old clothes...what to do?
Me and the OH have had a drawer clean out and found loads of old clothes (well, I say old...some we'd never worn and are now a bit too *ahem* big for) and he put them all into a bin liner to chuck out. I feel terrible about this! They're all types of materials and all non matching so I don't really want to make any…

Can I whisk trifle custard?
Quick quest that'll no doubt be moved to a different thread once the original, immediate question has been answered, but ... I forget, when I make trifle from scratch, that proper jelly in a box doesn't set as quickly as the quick gel that comes with a Birds trifle kit. I also use blancmange rather than custard because of…

Any crafty people? Old leather bag
I have a beautiful leather folio bag, a Radley. I have used it daily for five years and the lining is falling apart - unravelling, getting holes, ripped apart, and coming away from the bag. It's unusable. But from the outside the bag still looks almost 100% gorgeous. Any ideas about re-lining the bag? the internal zips are…

OMG Help me please!!!! Washing Disaster
OMG, DH has just bought himself a Schott NYC Hoodie, cost him £80 and has been saving for ages. I told him I'd give it a quick wash to get rid of the "new" smell. I put it on a 30C delicates wash, and I've just gone to get it out and it looks like it's covered in tissues  I think it's the fake fur lining, but I've…

Horrible object lesson
I know this isn't exactly OS money-saving, but I know I'll get a sympathetic ear. I don't get away often, and I do keep things 'for best'. We're having a holiday next week, and I decided I would tidy up my best pink make-up bag, with my best make-up safely in it. So far I have found: A dinky little container of Tisserand…

I am going to post on freecycle to see if I can get hold of a couple of anti dust mite sheets, but someone told me u can put things in the…
