How to get excess back when the other party admits blame?
My car insurance company (Hastings Direct) has told me to contact the other party’s insurance company to get my excess back (they have admitted liability for a car accident). But the other insurance company says that my insurance should be paying me back as they will have recouped costs. Which is right?

I don't know if I'm posting this in right place, appologies if it's not, I didn't know where to post this. Last Thursday I received a email from Premier Inn with a hotel booking confirmation. Praise for excellent customer service Argos (Graeme)
Delighted with excellent customer service - Argos Click and Collect at Kingsgate Retail Park. I was concerned about how I would get from the store collection point to where I could get a taxi home with my new microwave. I spoke to Graeme on the 'phone and he very kindly suggested that I should ask for him by name and he…

Many many many years ago, when Google was just wee, I had a G-Suit account. It was essentially just a google account but aimed at businesses. I was a sole trader at the time so It was perfect for me as it was free Years later, Google changed it to something called Google Workspace and started charging for it. Now I no…

Easylife rewards club - preying on the vulnerable
My 87 year old mother was recently signed up by Easylife to their rewards club which she did not want. She had previously bought items from them. Gets a phone call from a very persistent salesman, tells him repeatedly that the rewards club is of no interest to her but he would not take no for an answer and unfortunately…

Barking dogs/Aggressive neighbours
Hello everyone, I just wanted to put this out there and ask for your advice/opinion. I have lived in my home for 8 years and so far have had three different neighbours since moving in. I’m not perfect in any way shape or form and when my son lived at home he would play his music loud and I always asked the neighbours if it…

I recently went online to book some airport parking. Somehow, during the process I managed to "sign up" to Completesavings??? I ordered perfume from The perfume shop, on their official website. I paid and the money came out of my account. No perfume. Was sent a link to pay an extra £1 for a delivery fee. Companies House aiding fraudsters
Firstly, let me say that this falls into the area of an irritant rather than something that might be financially damaging. Nevertheless I've got a bee in my bonnet about it now, so it's going to get sorted one way or the other. Over the course of the past 2.5 weeks two fake companies, registered to persons having Chinese…

Unhealthy relationship with money? beating myself up over expenses :(
Long story short, I ALWAYS BEAT MYSELF UP whenever I have an unexpected bill, and 'punish myself' when something happens. I found out yesterday a replacement car key for me is £470, it is a smart key, keyless go. I am really upset about this, and am thinking of ways to cut things out of my life to the value of £470 until…

Price Increase Vent
Hi Everyone, I just need a good vent and thought someone here may sympathise! Spotted a great deal on some 'ex display' garden furniture on a website I'd never heard of. They were also offering a free parasol with all orders until 16th May. Not wanting to throw £399 down the drain, I looked at some reviews and they were…

Warning!!! Re: Screwfix Free Stanley Toolkit offer (Scam email)
I received an email with the heading showing Screwfix Free Stanley tookit, being curious because I have received free items from Screwfix if I have not used them for a while in the past. I went through a mini (very basic) survey and then it says £2 postage applies. I wonder how many people read the smallprint at the bottom…

EDF Fiddle
Be careful everybody, check your bills. I was encouraged by EDF to swap Tarrifs early to stay with them and they would not enforce the early exit sees. My bill arrived plus £300 fees dispite the fact that they are keeping me on the old tarrif until the end of the month which completes the existing contract anyway.
