Tv sound disappears
I have a Samsung series 6 smart tv. I think it must be about 11 years old. Every now and then when streaming the sound just goes off. I can fix it by turning the tv off and disconnecting it at the mains, then when it is switched back on it all works fine for a little while. The problem doesn’t seem to affect terrestrial…

BT now require 2fa code for email - is this permanent ?
2 months ago I was REQUIRED to set up 2fa on my BT account. So, the position then became : 2fa code required to access account. Code NOT required for email . This seemed reasonable - I would be happy with code protection on the account but not on email. Then on 15/5/26 a code was required for email which I do not want. The…

I want 2 up & down dusk to dawn outside lights to replace old fashioned lanterns. I’ve found the lights but struggling to grasp lumens/watts. I need 2 x GU10 LEDs per light & AI tells me I don’t need dimmable. Product says max 7W I think 345lumen will be bright enough but, looking at Screwfix, do I buy 3.6W 4.2W 4.6W or…

What free Ad blocker do you recommend?
I installed Total Adblock as a Google Extension yesterday, however, it keeps giving me pop ups and pages which open advertising their paid version. I also suspect it causes YouTube videos to halt since they weren't doing that before, although I have another adblocker called Adblock for Youtube.

Got an email saying someone has been in touch about an item I'm selling on Gumtree. Open Chrome up on PC (latest version, Windows 10), load up Gumtree but I can't access my profile. Anything in that blue banner - forget it. Burger menu - forget it. Clicking does nothing. Post an ad - forget it. Messages - shows nothing. If…

How can I watch live TV on a computer
I have just got a new wide-screen computer monitor and thought about maybe being able to watch TV on a side window, while doing something else. I have tried with YouTube and it works but only in the very small 'normal' YT window on screen. When I click to make this large, the whole monitor is shown, even when I have two…

How to 'bum-dial' an iPhone?
When a bum wasn't even involved. Sil's iPhone (not sure which model, but a recentish purchase) has made a number of unsolicited calls to folk in her contacts page whilst it was in her handbag. She was talking openly at the time which may have triggered it, but still. How to disable? Ta.

I've pressed a button somewhere and...
The camera on my tablet is operating like trying to look in a mirror. As in - if I want to move the tablet to focus on an image on my left I have to move it to my right. If I want to move to an object above I have to move it down. Not only does this mess with your mind it's making me sea sick. Everything is upside down. So…

Advice about contacting a company please
Hi I'm new here, so many apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place. I can't post links because I'm new, but the company name is a link, so I've just called them Change. They're a well-known petition website so hopefully it's obvious who I mean. I'm (definitely) not trying to promote this company! My elderly mum has £3…

How to by-pass MS login PIN
Ok, I expect this to be a non-starter, as we obviously cannot have folk knowing how to get around other folk's login details. But… This involves a deceased's estate, for which a relative has been granted Probate and must now carry out their executor's duties. The deceased left their laptop, which will almost certainly…

Old bloke locator?
I like to go gadding about the countryside on my mobility scooter, and in theory I text my dear wife every so often with my current location. When I forget, which I do from time to time, she starts worrying and I get it in the neck when I get home. Is there a simple to use way in which she can use her Android phone to keep…
