Advice about contacting a company please
Hi
I'm new here, so many apologies if I'm posting in the wrong place. I can't post links because I'm new, but the company name is a link, so I've just called them Change. They're a well-known petition website so hopefully it's obvious who I mean. I'm (definitely) not trying to promote this company!
My elderly mum has £3 coming out of her account every month going to Change. She doesn't know how she's signed up to this.
I've searched her emails and can't find anything there from them confirming a sign-up. I've logged into her Change account, but there's nothing there under subscriptions. They don't have a phone number to contact them.
I contacted the Nationwide who have put a stop on this payment for 13 months. They said we need to speak to Change to confirm this and to cancel it properly.
I completed an online form a week ago on the Change website - the only way to contact them. It just said it had been submitted, but I've had no further contact from them.
I've tried replying to one of their posts on X, because you can't message them there, but I didn't get a response.
I don't know why they make it so difficult, but I know she's worried about this. She's 89, and whilst she lives independently, this is beyond her. I am her Power of Attorney, so I can act on her behalf, but I don't know what else to do.
Any ideas what I can do next?
Thanks in advance.
J

What was the payment type, Direct Debit, Standing Order, Debit Card payment from a current account, continuous payment authority from a Debit or Credit Card?

What does it show on:
https://www.change.org/account_settings/contributions
?

It looks to be a CPA.
Know what you don't1 -
Is it via Change to one of their campaigns. Sometimes when you sign a petition they ask you to donate.

On the website they list credit card, Paypal & Google Pay so given the ladies age I'd hazard a credit card? There is a 'Donate £3' option there as well.
Try the link that @Exodi posted further up, https://www.change.org/account_settings/contributions and use the forgotten password link if needed.

I've Googled CPAs and that sounds like what it is. I can't check the site or her bank at the moment as I don't live with her.
I've now found an actual email for accessibility issues and have emailed that, so I guess I'll have to just wait for up to 7 days and hope they reply. 🤞🏻
She's not totally tech 'unsavvy', but I expect she's probably just ticked a button somewhere, and they make it so hard to get in touch.
Thanks everyone for replying. 🙂

Just realised you've already been into the account so ignore the previous post. You say you stopped the payment 13 months back? If that's right why are you asking now?

I rang the Nationwide a fortnight ago and they've put a stop on the next 13 payments - the woman I spoke to said that's the maximum amount of time they can stop the payments the for.
She also said we needed to let Change know and ask them to cancel it their end, and that's what my mum is worried about - that we can't do that last bit because there is no facility to phone them.

The payment is coming from her Nationwide current account. She doesn't have a credit card with them.

I'm not sure if I've understood your question correctly…
But if you mean you want to cancel a monthly contribution to change.org, they say you do that on the 'Account Settings' page.
There is a link to the 'Account Settings' page from this page: Click here
and look for the link in this paragraph:

If the link @eddddy gives doesn't help is the payment on the Halifax account a direct debit? It'll show as a DD payment maybe, if so then just cancel the DD authority from the online banking.
