Fuse Energy, anybody with them?
As they were being mentioned on another thread I thought I would take a look and sure enough very cheap SC for electricity and discounted unit rate by the looks of it. Personally happy with Octopus and our Tracker/Agile seasonal hop-skip-jump but it's always nice to see if the upstairs companies are getting any traction…

Plug in solar
https://www.euronews.com/green/2024/07/23/solar-balconies-are-booming-in-germany-heres-what-you-need-to-know-about-the-popular-home- There was an item on radio four about a booming trend of pug in solar, in Germany. I got the impression that you just plug it into your 13amp socket and it gets used by your appliances. Have…

Plug Solar appears to be arriving via certification, not a new plug standard.
One interesting observation from following the UK's plug-in solar journey over the last few months: A lot of electricians and standards specialists argued that the UK didn't actually need to rewrite BS 1363 from scratch to reach the same destination as Germany. Their view was that a workable route already existed: • Create…

RTS meter replacements: A fact finding mission.
Please only respond if you had an indoors located RTS meter replaced with a smart meter. I am interested in which location the RTS meter was (hallways, bedroom, kitchen, lounge…), was easily accessible or only by ladder for example, was it on the internal side of an outside wall or was it on a partition wall (such as…

E-on can't access smart meter after switch, now overcharging me
Having got an EV and home charger, I switched to E-On's "Next Drive Fixed V23" tariff, at 9p per KwH overnight. They say they can't connect to my smart meter (which worked fine with Octopus) and have stuck me on their basic tariff at 23.8p per KwH. The latest email said " "We'll be in touch to let you know what exactly…

Unable to sign in to outfox.energy
For 3 days now, I've been unable to sign in to my Outfox Energy account, whether through a link from their email to me, or starting from scratch (which includes using 2 different browsers on my laptop, or trying it on my phone). I click on the "Sign In" button, and I get a tab titled "Customer Portal", with the appropriate…

Maybe getting solar panels - Fix?
I’m currently with Octopus on the standard tariff (no fix). I recently applied to the government warm home and it looks like I’ve qualified for solar panels, the installer is doing an “Aspestos survey” in a couple of weeks, and if all ok (should be) they will book a date for installation. Before all this started, I did…

Octopus Tracker
I just wondered about people's experiences with this tariff and whether they feel they are winners or losers. I got a quote from them yesterday, and I have to say I find the numbers highly misleading. The figures are very attractive, beating even the good fixed rate tariff I got from Avro, but presumably based on an…

Octopus won't let me defer new fix to end of current Aug 29th
I see other users deferring a new fix to come in at end of current fix. Octopus refused to do this. My current fix ends 29th Aug. This may be because not within 49 day period? Has anybody been able to deferr a fix to the end of their current fix with Octopus? But the email was quite clear in that I don't think that matters…

Octopus Flux for Me?
I'd use the cheap energy club but what's throwing it out is I have solar so will want to export. I don't mind setting my battery to charge during off-peak times or whatever but I don't want to constantly look at energy prices every half an hour. Current tariff is with Eon Next but they've been terrible so want to leave…

Has British Gas started to seriously overestimate usage for estimated billing readings?
I meter read and forgot to give my actual gas & electricity readings this quarter (I remembered last quarter!). So BG made an estimated bill for the quarter to yesterday. Fair enough. But their estimates seriously overstated my actual usage, and are a large increase compared to the same quarter last year. Supply…

Outfox The Market - cancel direct debit if in credit
So I have changed energy supplier on 3rd July. I provided meter readings as requested (even though I have a SMETS2 smart meter) to my new supplier. I can see from my online account that the new supplier is picking the smart meter readings correctly. Outfox is my old supplier, and they have so far taken one monthly direct…
