eBay & paying tax: 30+ sales.
Having had my tax code changed recently due to my savings putting me over the 1k threshold, within days of this I had a relative asking me of eBay & tax. Basically they got notification saying eBay will be reporting him (to HMRC?) for selling 30 or more items or exceeding £1707 within a calendar year. He's sold 32 items &…

New message on unpaid items?
I mainly only do BIN listings with immediate payment and have it set up so even on some of my offers they need to pay if I accept an offer. However one buyer managed to offer, I accepted and they didn't pay - very annoying. It's been a while since I've had an unpaid but the message this time is different. After 4 days it…

Everi overcharging for item I’d posted with pre-paid label
As per the title I sold a Slendertone toning belt which weighed less than 1kg. I bought a label from eBay and sent it off. I’ve now received an email from everi that I’ve incurred an extra charge of £3.48 as the courier has said that the item weighed 3.48kg. This is clearly a lie. is there a link or place on Evri’s website…

Evri return to Sender issue
Sold a large karaoke machine on eBay, posted with correct packing etc us SD… eBay states it's been successfully delivered, Evri state they attempted delivery twice but have returned it to me, which they have and the buyer hasn't responded when I have messaged them. When I contacted eBay they gave me the standard "wait a…

can you change delivery address for ALL future deliveries .. EVRi / DPD
Is there a way to change ALL future deliveries from EVRi and DPD ? There is a local website and almost on a daily basis there are stories of parcels being photographed at unknown places and buyers just left astonished as to where their parcels are located. I have had similar cases too. Late last year I had an email from…

Returns to non-existent address / Chinese seller faking UK location
Had a really unusual situation. Purchased an item on eBay that was marked as 'UK seller', though item is very common (I think 'cheap tat' probably sums it up, haha) and the description was written in poor English. Took about 1.5 weeks to arrive, with a customs form and chinese text on parts of the label, so I think it's…

I can't find an item I have sold
I sold an item a few days ago and simply can't find it. I messaged the buyer explaining the situation that I genuinely can't find it, but added I would refund now but keep looking for it and if I find it I would send it off, free of charge. The buyer hasn't replied. I messaged again and still no response received. This…

VAT on purchase from Canada less than £135
I'm not sure if this is exactly the right sub-forum but I know there are lots of people here who are knowledgeable about buying from abroad. I'm interested in buying some sandals from: https://jimmiesfootwear.com/products/buy-foldable-shower-sandals The sandals are being advertised to me (in the UK) on social media and are…

Can you do anything about eBay timewasters?
It seems the single cell community don't just move in FB Marketplace waters. A relative of mine sold an item on eBay. Clearly marked up as COLLECTION ONLY. Guy buys it … and actually pays! Relative asks when guy is going to collect - "the weekend". Couple days later guy is asking when relative can post it. Relative refers…

Ebay fake tracking information and closed case
Hi I recently ordered an item from ebay (paid by credit card), and a day later I got a message (through ebay) from the seller telling me that they could not deliver to my location (Northern Ireland). I replied to them asking for a refund since they could not complete the order. They did not cancel the order, but asked me…

Yodel returned my parcel to sender after THEY suggested diverting it to a locker – anyone else?
I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this with Yodel, as it seems like a pretty flawed system. I received an email from Yodel saying my parcel was due for delivery and that if I wouldn’t be home I could divert it to an InPost Locker “to simplify your life”. As I was going to be at work, that sounded ideal so I…

Vinted Returns
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has any experience of Vinted - particularly their returns policy. I have bought/sold quite lot on ebay and a little on depop, but am new to Vinted. I recently bought a white blouse, and despite specifically asking the seller if there were any stains or defects and being told there weren't,…

Ebay balance - how can I withdraw the funds from my sales
Ebay has recently convoluted something that didn't need changing, but making a seller's earnings go into a balance rather than directly to a bank account. I've spent over an hour, tearing my fkin hair out trying to figure out how to withdraw the money in my balance. I have over £150 sat in there and there's no option to…

Ebay buyer wants to return - help
Hi all I sold a 10 year old Samsung phone (a J5 2016) on ebay last week. The buyer has asked for a refund saying that it's defective because his words 'it's so old it won't even download Youtube'. I'm not really sure where I stand as I wrote in the description that although the phone works it's a little slow and phone…

Another simple delivery price change?
Anyone else noticed this? List a large letter/<1kg item at (seller receives) £100.00 and postage is £2.70. List it at £100.01 or more and the postage jumps up to £3.42 That presumably corresponds to the royal mail compensation limit of £100 for tracked 48 so I guess ebay are taking some extra for 'insurance' themselves.…

Buyer asking for a refund because they don’t like the item
hi , I’ve been selling off my old stock as I am semi retired now. I sold a central heating programmer a few days ago, and just received a request for a return, the reason for the return is they don’t like the item. There was several pictures and full description of the item. Surely you don’t buy a Central Heating…
