What will happen if I, as a beneficiary, refuse to sign Receipt and Release/Indemnity?
What will happen if I, as a beneficiary, refuse to sign Receipt and Release/Indemnity? I am happy to agree that I am satisfied with my quoted share of the Estate but as I’ve had little/no involvement with the deceased’s or Executors’ accounting, I don’t agree that I should need to indemnify if the accounts are wrong.

St. James' Place - Pensions - Am I stupid for being concerned?
I’m looking for opinions on whether my concerns are valid or not as I’m not experienced in pensions or investments. An advisor from St. James’ Place contacted me on LinkedIn, mentioned that they work with ‘my colleagues’ and offered a free initial review into whether they can help with my financial planning. For context,…

The post is dreadful in my road and we haven't had any for 10 days. Sometimes we wait 3 weeks or more. A house sale sitting on this and I am very…

Understanding question from late Grandparent's pension provider
My Nan died at the end of last year aged 100. For over 29 years she was in receipt of a widow's pension from my Grandad's pension provider from his workplace. My Dad is the executor of Nan's will. She left cash only in a bank (no property). He has informed the pension provider of Nan's death and sent a death cert but had…

I have a cifas on the official website
I have about 3/4 all saying I falsified bank statements and they referred it to Dfc and inspection. I need a mortgage but it seems like they are all on cifas to check. I was wondering why I kept getting declined and they wouldn't say just 'speak to your broker'. I kept going around in circles as it doesn't show on check my…

Has anyone succesfully argued a Clean Air Zone charge away?
Hi everyone, Just got home to find a Birmingham City Council penalty charge waiting for me. My first reaction was to scratch my head as I distinctly remember paying the £8 charge before I made my journey into Birmingham, and looking through my credit card statement I can see that that is exactly what I did........ but then…

Meteor - IsBank - 1yr Fixed ISA
Hi everyone, I've just started an ISA transfer from Moneybox to Meteor to be able to open their 1 year fixed rate at 4.35%. You can't open the account until the transfer is complete so it is a gamble but my current rate with Moneybox is 4.13% and I'm sure I'll be able to get this elsewhere is Meteor remove the rate, has…

DCB Legal - letter of claim
Hi there, long story short I stayed at a hotel over 3 years ago. I got a parking ticket for the hotel. Tried to complain to the hotel but they were useless and didn't resolve anything. I ignored the debt collectors letters, then silence. Now I've started getting DCBL letters and now a LOC. I don't have any record of the…

Seeking help about a Charge Certificate for a second PCN (that I didn't realise I had)
Hello, I have received a Charge Certificate for a second PCN within a 24 hour period, and I am looking for advice about whether to challenge this, and if so how. I have a resident's parking permit. It now looks like I was issued two PCNs on consecutive days, for parking during a two-day temporary traffic order (TTO) on 17…

Is scheme specific lump sum protection *additional* to the LSA?
I have 2 pensions, neither accessed yet - the older one has "protected rights" of some kind on it which I believe is the same as "scheme specific lump sum protection", namely at some point in the distant past I became entitled to take more than 25% tax free from that pension and those rights still exist, potentially. I've…

Combined postage
Hi I've just sold 2 items to the same seller who has paid. I've been sent 2 RM prepaid labels, 1 for each item. One is for £2.18 and the other for £1.20 which is the same as the usual £3.38 postage. Do I just package both items together and print both labels and stick them on the package? Thanks

Completing IHT400 - my experience!
Well, after a sleepless night worrying about completing the form (and 8 supplementary forms!), I've spent the last 2 days on this and it's about done. Once I focused and stopped panicking, it wasn't so bad. Contrary to what it says on gov.uk, ''You cannot save a partly completed form so we suggest you gather all your…
