How comparable is BT TV to sky?
My parents are moving home within the next few months. It's only 2 miles down the road, but a bit more rural and are limited in options for TV and broadband, they can't get cable/virgin. So I'm trying to look at their options. They currently have sky with 2 boxes, one sky plus and one standard, phone line and (horrendously…

Hi Just giving myself a New Year financial check up and I was wondering if anyone has previously cancelled their TV license as they no longer watch TV? Giving Sky 33 days cancellation notice
I've just called Sky asking them to cancel my service in 33 days time. They tried to tell me that I need to call back in 2 days because they can only deal with 31 days notice. I argued that it is not my responsibility to do that because by giving 33 days notice, I was complying with the terms of my contract. They claimed…

How to view/stream an episode from a year old TV series

TV licence by Direct Debit - monthly vs quarterly
I have been paying it yearly by a credit card so far, but am thinking of switching to a DD because many bank current accounts require DDs nowadays and the interest I can get over-weights 0.5% CC cashback. Is my understanding correct that monthly option doesn't incur any extra fees unlike the quarterly one? This doesn't…

Cancelling Sky (maybe?) - help appreciated
Hi I live back at home with my dad. He has a Sky contract with discounts that's due to expire end of Jan and can't afford to carry on at the increased price. Having priced up the various options including cashback sites it makes sense to take up another provider - the only thing he has extra is sky sports. But, for me to…

Sky removed HD Channels
Last week, I came home, sat down ready to watch some NFL on Thursday night, and lo and behold my Sky channels had mysteriously switched around. Tried to get to the HD channels, but they appeared to have disappeared from my package. I pay a not insignificant sum north of £60 a month to get Sports and Movies, and have always…

New aerials or freesat - new house

I must be one of the only people left that hasn't seen Breaking Bad. Every time the BT advert comes on I think I need to watch it.
