Add BT Sport to Sky - have to renew broadband!

Hi,
I have unlimited broadband with BT, which give me free access to BT Sport.
I recently also got Sky, and wanted to add the BT Sport channels.
But when I went through on BT's website, even though it's completely free to add the channels (as it should be - I already have a right to them) I notice that they quietly slip in "Your BT Broadband package will be recontracted for a minimum term of 12 months."
What the hell? To access something I already pay for, I have to renew a contract??
Has anybody else encountered this, and what did they do about it?

Yes, it's been like that ever since BT Sport began. To get it free, you have to be under contract. No contract, no free BT Sport."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Or, to be more precise, no 12m minimum term contract, no 'free' BT Sport. OP is already in a contract, on 30 days notice. No free lunch, and no free laptop0
