I have been catching up on the power outage drama series called Revolution in the Sky Boxset, by downloading the episodes. I am up to Series 2, Episode 12. Two days ago, the box set disappeared.
Do the box sets re-appear in rotation? There seems to be some series which are even older.
I suppose I could have downloaded every episode in one go before, but the hard disk is not infinite.
As an aside, 11.7Mbps (ADSL2+) is plenty for streaming HD.
It takes a minute or so to get started, but I can watch from the beginning without buffering once it becomes available. No need for fibre broadband, unless you have multiple users in the house.

When and how often a box set appears on Sky is down to licencing agreements with the distributor as well as popularity of the box set itself. Given Revolution was not renewed for a third season due to low ratings in the US, it is only somewhat possible it could resurface on Sky On-Demand. It really depends on if Sky feel it is worth renewing streaming rights for the show again.
I'd recommend adding it to your "Never Miss" list here - http://epgservices.sky.com/nevermiss/ - and then you will know if and when it shows up again on Sky. I believe this will only alert you to broadcast television showings though and not On-Demand ones.
Amazon Prime Instant Video currently has the full S1 box set and the second season available for paid purchase (£2.49 per episode in HD, bit expensive or £21.49 for the whole season). You may also want to keep an eye on there to see if S2 becomes part of a Prime subscription at any point, and if so, if you have one available you could take a 30 day free trial to catch it (but remember to cancel if you don't want to keep it!).
Around 5-6Mb is the general minimum recommendation for HD streaming. I could only get 3Mb in my area pre-fibre.0 -
Revolution has just started from Series 1 Episode 1 on Sky 2.
Oh well, only six months to wait, if it's one episode a week.0 -
Revolution was killed by the US network after series 2 -very disappointing!!0
