Hi, I’m new to this forum so hoping someone can help. I completed an IVA in April 2013. I have recently contacted Northern Rock about reclaiming ppi on a mortgage and loan I had before the IVA. Both these accounts were closed and repaid in full a few years before the IVA was taken out however, a separate northern rock loan…

Is this address still used by HSBC?
Hi guys, I’m wondering if the following address still comes under HSBC: HSBC, Griffin House, 41 Silver Street Head, Sheffield S1 3GG. N.B I’ve read some articles dated June 2019/July 2019, which state the complex/building was sold to another firm, but then the articles also state that HSBC plan to move from there within…

Any advice, I'm confused
I used YourMoneyClaim to reclaim PPI on my Capital One card. For some reason they made two claims for the same card giving them each a different claim number. One was partly upheld and YourMoneyClaim forwarded me the Capital One cheque and I paid their fees. Shortly afterwards I received documents showing Capital One had…

House of Fraser Store Card
I had a House of Fraser store card when I was a student. I took it out in 1997. Santander are looking after the PPI complaints. I put in a complaint and they have said the sale of the PPI was not substantially flawed and on the Plevin sides it's time-barred. However, they have said that if I can send evidence that I was a…

RBS PPI calculation
Hi all, Can anyone enlighten me as to the correct way to calculate PPI redress for a credit card? I complained after the calculation RBS sent me was wrong - so i complained, only to be told there'll be no revised offer. I've now had a letter from RBS stating that they only pay stat int (8% & 15% pre April 1993) on accounts…

Unexpected Compensation from Halifax!?
Today I received the below letter from Halifax, stating that after a review of my account, they believe they have not acted fairly in managing my finances during 2013. During late 2012 and early 2013 I had a number of issues with Halifax around the three accounts (2 bank accounts & 1 credit card) I held with them. There…

PPI repayment taxable?
I understood from various sources that any PPI award was not treated as taxable by HMRC. I notified Tax credits of a repayment just to make sure, and am now in an unpleasant overpayment spat with them. Clarification anyone? Please.

CPP refusing to reissue cheque
Hi, Can anyone help with this? I made a claim for CPP in July and hadn't heard anything by October so I rang them. They had actually refunded my CPP premiums already but had sent the cheque to an old address. As 6 months have passed since they issued the cheque they are now refusing to issue a new one, even though I didn't…

Martin: 'PPI's over, but I've THIRTEEN more ways you can reclaim £1,000s' - MSE News
'I'm no fan of a compensation culture. Instead MSE and I have long, proudly been at the forefront of reclaiming – that's getting YOUR money back when it shouldn't have been taken (or if you weren't paid what you should've been). Compensation is different, it's using the law to get extra money, often as a punishment'...Read…

Evans Card PPI and "account cover premium"
Hi everyone, Last year I sent an inquiry to Santander regarding PPI on my mother's old Evans card which was under GE Capital Bank. They eventually wrote back and said "sorry, she never had PPI". My mother's disabled with cognitive issues so she can't guarantee herself that had it from memory but it would have certainly…

Do I still bank the Plevin cheque if I want to complain to Ombudsman
Capital One just rejected my mis-selling complaint, but sent me a £103 in relation to Plevin. Their letter was very wordy and actually the details in it, have aided me to remember more clearly the situation back in 2007 when I took the PPI. I still believe I was mis-sold so I want to go to the Financial Ombudsman. Is the…

ppi offer
I have had an offer from hsbc to settle a ppi complaint. It was for an £80000 mortgage between 1999 and 2009 with monthly repayments of £680. They have offered £1200 and say my total premium payments were £560 over 10 years. This means they were covering 680 per month for £50 per year. does this sound likely?
