Recently my husband and I were looking forward to a special trip to Thailand to celebrate my 50th birthday. My husband was working offshore and should have been home 5 days before our flight. Due to adverse weather conditions all helicopter flights were cancelled and he didn't arrive home until the day after our flight.…

M&S dumps travel insurance
Received a letter this morning. M&S is stopping the travel insurance associated with it's mastercard credit card. There is currently a £30 monthly fee and no mention of this being reduced! I am sure that TI must have made up the bulk of their fees. I can't imagine that 'free' coffee vouchers cost them that much. One for…

Sim for use in NZ and Aus for local calls and data
I'm looking for advice on getting a SIM or eSIM to use for around 30 days in New Zealand and Australia. I'm interested in local calls and texts and a small amount of data (say 1-2Gb). Anybody have any advice on the best service provider in terms of coverage? Thanks

Travel Insurance
Martin Lewis states that customers should always take out travel insurance as soon as they book a holiday. I have booked a holiday for my wife my daughter and my grandchildren. Should it be me that books the insurance straight away as I have paid for it or should my daughter also book it for herself and my grandchildren?

Booking.com - incompetent rip-off. Start of holiday spoilt.
Short-story. Booked hotel and car rental through them for 1 week in Tenerife. What a disaster unfolded! Can't see any value in booking through them. Will go direct to hotel/supplier in future after doing research on Booking.com site. Strongly recommend that you don't book through them; just use them for research and…
