Do you use private browsing when searching for holiday deals online?
I'm keen to hear from anyone who uses incognito/private tabs to research holiday deals. 🏖️ * Do you find prices appear differently depending on whether you use incognito/private or not? * Do you find new discounts appear for you depending on whether you use incognito/private or not? * Do you have any successes you can…

How do you know when you're going to be charged a foreign fee?
I got the Barclaycard app ahead of time ready to use abroad (France) and that went just fine. Was also aware that Chase don't charge for using their debit card either so had that as a backup if needed. All good so far. Fully expected that if I used a debit card abroad (HSBC) then there'd be a fee of sorts. So the obvious…

Then driving into Austria, where we will stay for 9 days before returning to memmingen to fly home. We are not traveling until August. It seems that it needs…

Car hire excess agreement Cover4Rentals null and void!
Hi all, First time poster, making people aware of a car hire insurance excess waiver problem we had recently, and to see if anyone else had the same problem and/or got it resolved.... We hired a car in Italy (15th-23rd August) and when I saw the high cost and poor cover offered directly by the rental company I decided to…

Better to check in closer to flight date?
I read some while ago that it's safer to check in close to your flight date, rather than as soon as check in opens. This is because an airline refused to refund a passenger for their flight after they became ill and couldn't fly - the airline said that having checked in, they had entered a contract to take the flight. Last…

Out-of-date Norwegian currency - any way that I can exchange this?
I visited Norway a couple of times back in 2013/2015, and I had some currency left over. I didn't exchange it afterwards as I thought I may go back. Well, you know where this is going ... I tried to exchange some Norwegian notes that I had not used - in fact they had never been used by anyone! - but the notes were dated…

Raising a complaint against last.minute.com
I need some advice. In July 2025 i booked a package holiday via Lastminute.com ( flights with easyjet and a hotel). Within 2 hours of the booking i realised the flight date was incorrect. I immediately contacted lastminute.com via their customer support to request the change. My request was acknowledged but they did not…

TopCar issues
Hi there I’m on holiday in Gran Canaria and looking for some advice, I’ve hired a car through jet2holidays and the company they’ve subcontracted it to is TopCar. When I collected the car they demanded a €900 deposit even though we had purchased extra insurance with jet2 to avoid this. Then when I went to collect the car…

Please do not be suckered in (like me) into the Barclays British Airways/Avios [Text removed by Forum Team] The deal is, pay 12 pounds a month and get 1,500 avios per month, plus an annual voucher for a return cabin upgrade for one person OR 70,000 avios (which is not the default, you have to switch that in the Barclays…

BA Cancel booking option
My mother and I made separate BA flight bookings earlier this week. About 5 minutes after we realised we needed to change the dates so used the cancel booking option. A message came up acknowledging the booking had been cancelled and a full refund would come through in 3-5 days. The next day I was looking at flights to…

Enterprise Switzerland car hire damage dispute
I hired a car in June from Enterprise in Basel airport (Swiss side). It was booked via Booking.com and their Rentalcars.com group. We checked the car carefully on pickup and took photos all around it as it had a number fo dents and scratches already. The holiday and car hire went well, and we returned it on schedule to…

Wizzair booking issues
It seems Wizzair started to add "card transaction fee" for UK credit cards. It is only a few pennies, so the amount doesn't bother me. What is a problem however, is that this added fee results in an "overpaid booking" and a request to contact customer services to sort out the refund. Online chat agent informs me that they…

APD Refund
Hi, Can someone tell me if I've got this right... I want to secure a flight with Easyjet from Paris CDG to the UK. The flight is €35. The EasyJet website states the government tax for CDG is €25.59. If I didn't take the flight and 'no-showed', could I reclaim the tax, so essentially I am only out of pocket €9.41?

Barclaycard Travel Credit Card
I applied and received this Travel credit card from Barclays but I found the level of security to register the card for the Barclays App too suffocating and infuriating to complete. Just too many PIN numbers, memorable data, passcodes and dates. Eventually I gave up and closed my account the day after I received the card.…
