Booked holiday with love holidays flights are with Ryanair.
Went to check in sorry not paying £14.99 for allocated seat per person each way.
Feeling bullied

how long is the flight? Are you traveling with children?

Feeling bullied by an optional extra? Clearly not flown much recently.

That message from Ryanair is refreshingly blunt.
Any hint at all from Love Holidays that there might be additional charges? If you've never flown Ryanair/easyJet before then I guess their pricing for 'extras' may come as a bit of a surprise.
Pretty sure that if you had booked with the likes of Jet2 or Tui then most seats on the plane can be reserved at no extra cost, although you'll pay extra for more legroom.

It's not bullying. You have 2 options - pay a fee to pick your seat, or accept random allocation and sit where Ryanair tell you.
Random allocation is not that bad - we flew to Mallorca last week and got aisle/window exit row seats with no-one in the middle without paying.

Oh dear, didn't do your research before booking, it's not as though this is anything but Ryanair's policy for many years.

Then dont pay and you get what you are allocated

I'm curious, I don't use Ryanair and I don't have kids.
If an adult is travelling with kids, say 5, 8 & 11, and they don't pay the extra for allocated seating, do the kids just get randomly distributed around the plane?

I don't think that this is a Ryanair and EasyJet thing at all - choosing seats (with entry-level economy tickets) is a chargeable extra with most airlines, including Jet2, Tui and even the likes of BA…
As above, it's a simple choice, pay and choose seats or don't pay and take what you're given - why OP chooses to portray this as 'bullying' is frankly bizarre!

I haven't flown Jet 2 but I have used Tui and have always had to pay to chose my seats.
I usually use easyjet when I can, and pay then as well. The only time I use Ryanair is when I go to Bezier as no one else currently flies there from London - and just pay the little extra, it's usually around £6.99 or £8.99 on that flight for standard economy seats , but they do range towell over £20 for extra leg room.
Flying BA this month but haven't pre booked seats as it's a short internal flight and I'm sure my OH can manage without me for just short of an hour if we get seperated.
