Hi moneysavers,:) This is my first post (been lurking for some time), and wondered if anyone else has had the same problem when switching providers? I've been with Eon Fixonline7 for 12 months now. My contract ran out on 1 May and because they automatically moved me their Eon Energyonline tariff (much more expensive) I…

I'm probably being very thick here but I've heard several people talking about using a spreadsheet to calculate electricity/gas bills. How is this done? Is there a template or have you set it up yourself? Thanks Eleyna

EDF changing from prepayment to monthly bills.
We bought our first home 3 months ago and the gas and electric are on prepayment meters, so we looked into having them removed and the supplier at the time wanted to charge us £50 per meter to remove them. So we changed to EDF as they offered the best rate at the time and no charge to remove the meters after we had been…

Are N-power trying to change my monthly DD amount?? :S
I use N-power's sign-online 18 tarriff as it's the cheapest. I started with them back on 21/10/2010, and have been paying £34 per month as my direct-debit. (I live alone in a studio flat, so my monthly electricty should cost between £30-£40 maximum) I got my 1st bill from them 2days ago, and in a very hard to read order…

Advice needed - At which point should I complain?
Hi all, I'm looking for a bit of advice here... I recently moved to a new apartment that uses First Utility's Smart Meters. The landlord insists that we stick with First Utility, so I don't have much of a choice in all this. Anyway, I moved in at the beginning of April and I immediately picked up the phone to First Utility…

Business Electricity Contract Problems
I am starting this thread in an attempt to collate and highlight all the potential pitfalls and wrong-doing by business electricity suppliers with their contracts signed for by small to medium size businesses. I am now in a dispute over an electricity contract for the third year in a row. I think it would be a great help…

Do EON think its April 1?
Just received this classic survey to fill in from EON. Here's the picture of the product the survery is all about. Is this a joke? My answer to the survery question "What would you do to improve this product" may get me banned from future surverys ;)

Helping relative with utilities
Hi, We've received a phone call tonight from a relative who wants help with switching suppliers. She's a pensioner who pays cash payments every quarter. It's difficult to get all the information we need to do comparisons on-line when speaking to her on the phone so we plan on going over tomorrow. She has not received a…

Quidco cashback when changing tariff?
I have just had a new gas meter installed, and, unsuprisingly I'm on the BG standard tariff!! I'm going to change, with BG websaver 11 being the cheapest, but my electricity is currently with OVO (fixed contract ended). As I understand it, I can't get Quidco cashback with a tariff change within the same company, but can I…

This is…

No electric paid for 8 yrs - now chasing?
Hi, We signed up with Eon (which was back then i think TXU) in Nov 2001, on a combined Gas/Electric account. We've had Direct Debits for years, paying the bill automatically - then we changed it to pay per quarterly bill, paying each time the bill arrived. Eon have recently been in touch to say that they haven't received…
