The "websaver 11 extra 50" with service contract is still showing though. One less option for when my Eon FOL8 finishes :(

Yes, but how long will that remain?

I bet it will be gone by 1st July

    Next choice is Npower.

Thanks for the heads up, my Click 6 electricity was just going to run out.

I've managed to change to Websaver 11 electricity only on-line, will see if it goes through.

I had been watching these threads and as well as the usual comparison sites I had done a quote direct with BG.

I have just responded to their email response to me to place an online order. On the basis I should get the cheap tariff until switch over in the next month happy to take the EON early closure penalty on the chin.

Lets just hope it goes through.

I have just managed to change onto BG websaver 11 directly on the BG website.

What is the benefit of going through uswitch rather than BG? Quidco cashback is the only thing I can think of & Websaver should save me more than the cashback.
Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.

Anyone switching(from EON Fixed) ahead of their contract term ending needs to ensure they update their readings online and request an up to date bill otherwise you will lose ALL discounts on final bill - see other threads. They suggest that this loss of discount will occur as soon as EON are notified of switch which may be weeks before final bill agreed.

  • Just spoke to British gas. They have confirmed that web 11 is still available. You can sign up for this direct on their website under product and services

There is no advantage to signing for web 11 on a switching site. That they have made me aware of anyway.

BG looking to increase standard tariff (to which BGWS11 is linked - it is not fixed) so isn't a cast iron saver anyway it just looks that way because of timing.

Advantage of using switching sites of MSE is that they offer some cashback or bottles of wine. Trouble is BGWS11 is no longer being quoted on these sites now.

If BG increase their standard prices then all the other providers will follow suit, so the Websaver should still be competitive in future.

ATM, my combination of Websaver 8 for gas and Websaver 11 for electricity gives me the lowest rates on Energyhelpline.
East Midlands based on 2000 Kwh electricity and 10000 Kwh gas.

WS8 will come to an end in October so the search will start again then.
