Shoezone Return
Hi, I bought a pair of, admittedly cheap, shoes 11 days ago. Within a few days, the insoles had worn away to nothing so I bought some replacement ones, today the sole has worn away to nothing and there is a large hole. They are now unwearable. Are there any actions I can take? Thanks a lot. Any advice is appreciated.

Cannot make any contact with Microsoft
Hi all, Microsoft have got my X box warranty wrong. It should be 12 months but they have said it ended after 8 months. I have tried contacting them but it is impossible. When I request a call back I never get one. When I get the chat box no one ever replies. When I call the number it tells me to go to the website. A never…

Section 75 / Chargeback
Hi, I’m looking to purchase a motorhome £50k+, and initially considered paying £1,000 on my credit card to get coverage by my credit card company under Section 75 if disaster struck and the motorhome needed to be returned due to lots of faults (it happens!), and the dealer played hard ball and refused a refund. Reading up…

Action Against Local Water Authority
Hi, Our LWA's defective drains have caused subsidence at our property. Our insurance claim has been pending since February 2023 because the LWA will not take responsibility and repair the drains. They are claiming their drains are not cracked/fractured or leaking. We have evidence to prove otherwise, including their own…

Fraudulent representation?
My husband had a job done with what seemed like a reputable business that does a lot of work in the area, good reviews and advertise as a family run business. All seemed good had written estimate and receipt on headed paper and husband paid cash on completion. Then offered good price for a second job and husband agreed…

Not sure if this is the correct place to put this query but there did seem to be a lot of Amazon stuff here... A pending transaction of £1.08 has appeared on my account for 'prime membership'. The same amount has appeared on my amex card for the same amount. I haven't used the account in quite a while. What's odd is that I…

Implications of cancelling a contract for made to measure blinds.
It probably is a bit of a wierd one. Ordered made to measure blinds for the whole house from a small family run business. So did my daughter. We each have an invoice/ order for the goods. Stipulates only 24 to cancel. The blinds were to be made and fitted 14 days after the order. 21 days later, no blinds, no contact from…

Hi I had a new bedroom a week ago and when the floor protection was removed it left glue on the lino. There is also some snagging to fix. Is my guarantee still valid after refund?
I recently had flooring laid throughout my property and, long story short, there were a multitude of issues because it was laid so badly. i fought for a proper repair or full refund and ended up settling for a refund on the fitting and a bit extra as a ‘goodwill gesture’. now, a few months later, there is a new issue with…

'Free' Competition
Hi I went to a baby show yesterday and a stall was running a 'free' competition where if you guess the weight of the bear, you could win a photoshoot and the teddy bear. We was told we had to pay deposit of £35 if we won to secure a booking, but this would be refunded once we finished the photoshoot. I received a text to…

Refunding riding lessons
I think I know the answer to this but wanted other opinions. If you have paid money to an equestrian centre for riding lessons, and the horse you have to ride due to ill health is no longer available to ride, can they refuse to refund you even if their policy for cancellations says no refunds only credit? It wont be…

POP telecom - avoid
Via MoneySavingExpert I
came to POPtelecom. Their advert offers “a basic plan to get your
emails or ...superfast broadband for streaming and gaming” In
fact they do not have an e-mail service at all: you are expected to
use some other service. Once this was clear I cancelled my direct
debit and then cancelled POP telecom.…
