Incorrect Broadband Charges
In December, I called BT to inform them that I was cancelling my direct debit (I was not in the contract period and was rolling month to month). I received an email from CRS (debt collectors) recently informing me that I owed BT over £160. I hadn't received any notifications from BT at this point. After multiple hour-long…

How can I get around new openreach 1 line only restrictions?
I tried to get a better deal with my provider BT but they told me that because I have 2 lines they could do nothing for me without moving to one line. And, that it would be the same if I went to any other provider that used open reach. That only leaves me Virgin. I have a household line and my husband has a line set up…

Virgin worse deals for existing customers - renewal dance time
I'm currently doing the renewing contract dance and had a polite but incredibly unhelpful CS rep on the phone. I'm currently on M250 Fibre Broadband only (no phone no TV) and due to poor speeds and drop outs and doing some work from home was interested in upgrading to a better deal My Current package is £30.46 a month…

Vodafone house move hell
2 weeks before move booked vodafone to switch over broadband. Not helped that the current owners for some reason unknown to themselves decided to cancel my order somehow (even though it was for day after we moved). Anyway, been there a week now, and I keep doing new orders with vodafone and 4 times now they've had…

Broadband and landline package for vulnerable elderly person with council emergency alarm
Have an elderly parent who lives on her own. She has an emergency pendant alarm supplied by her council and is in an area with very poor mobile signal - so cannot rely on mobiles if there is a power/internet outage. She is currently with Sky and is on their international extra landline package - as she has friends and…

Sky broadband, new customer
I need to renew my broadband as my contract ends soon. I just did a price comparison and sky is cheaper than renewing with my current provider. If I switch now will I get hit by a price rise in April as it will be a new contract starting in March? It would seem very unethical to do that?

Broadband for intermittent usage - 4G?
Wondering if this makes sense: ditch an existing expensive VDSL line, and replace it with a 4G modem/router on a 2GB cheap monthly data sim, then just buy a 30-day 'unlimited data' add-on when I'm actually on site? Inherited a house, but it needs a fair bit of work doing before we sell it on. I'll only be there for 3 weeks…

Trouble with comparison sites - are any truly accurate?
Hi, I'm shopping around for replacement broadband. I'm going to comparison sites - and they are all showing fibre broadband as being available here. I'm in really rural Scotland and we don't have fibre here, only copper wiring I can't be bothered to go though the application with everyone individually to see what's…

Do I need home broadband?
My TalkTalk contract is coming up for renewal, was paying £24 a month they want to put it up to £34 increasing with inflation plus 3.7% in April. FTTC 35Mbps. Looking around at other deals it all looks a minefield with contracts which change price mid term being the norm and some with vague "price may change during…
