Phone company wont renew contract as they dont recognise my UK address
Hi, I have just moved house. But i have been with EE for years with a mobile Home 4GEE router and a dumbphone on the same contract as the router, for £25/month. (i use the router with my laptop) Anyway, my contract expired a few days ago, and so i rang up for a quote for a new one. But they told me they dont recognise my…

Is this a scam - purporting to be cheque from Virgin Media?
I ended my contract with Virgin Media 5 years ago, and had to use the Ombudsman to stop them furthering their efforts to get money from me. They were ordered to return money to me and they did years ago. Today, however, I received a cheque for £65.38 apparently from Virgin Media issued via the Royal Bank of Scotland with…

Open reach network improvement & Full Fibre work
Hi, Openreach has just blocked off my drive way and the front of my house in order to make network improvements and do full fibre ready. Does anyone know how long this will take from first blocking access to finishing and removing the blockage? All I got was a notice shoved through my letter box last week saying they were…

Virgin Media Installation - Broadband
Hey I have just entered into a contract with Virgin using a BF deal. They sent me a video about the installation, but only AFTER I had pulled the trigger. Now I am a bit nervous! Background is I have had FTTP installed in my road, up to the kerb. As I understand it, that is not the end of the story and there is more work…

Ditch or stay with BT?
My 24 month contract is up next week so I’m looking around. There are clearly better deals out there, but my broadband (FTTP) has been very reliable, hence my reluctance to switch. I am a Sky TV customer also. Basically, BT are offering an upgrade from 150mb to 500mb for the same price as I’m paying now, 24 month contract…

BT Business T&C's
Has anyone had any experience of entering into a contract with BT for business broadband and not being notified or informed of the contractual terms & conditions? My sister (too stressed to post herself) had a sales call from BT in March where she agreed to upgrade to a different fibre service but was not informed of the…

Talk Talk login
Talk Talk seem to have changed their login process and every time I try to login I have to enter a verification code. Does anyone know how I can change this process. I have tried phoning them and have given up waiting in a queue to speak to them. The online chat is as bad waited 20 minutes and gave up with that too

No choice but to stick with current provider?
Currently with Vodafone broadband, however we are now out of contract so the price has gone up. While normally I would just look for a better deal elsewhere and switch, we are in the process of moving house and the new address can only have Virgin. Am I right in thinking that if I get any other provider, and then move in…

Rise Fibre cooling off period
Signed up yesterday to Rise fibre. I no longer wish to proceed. They arranged for an engineer to visit next week and have sent out my router. They explained I have a 14 day cooling off period. Tried all day to contact them but no answer. When I contact sales they say wrong department and put me in a queue with no answer…

Not happy with ZEN
I have ZEN 100 broad band and my "landline" number with included call charges at about £7 or 8 extra a month, on Open Reach full fibre to house. Today I asked them if could reduce this charge in anyway, EG. do away with this charge and just pay for calls as they happen. No was the answer all that they can offer is…

EE Broadband contract cancellation issue
Not sure if this should be in this area of the forum or consumer rights or somewhere else? My son's partner is trying to cancel her EE broadband after only being with them a few months, due to her moving in with my son. She has called EE CS and they have advised that she can't cancel it as her name is not the one on the…

WARNING! Vodafone Essentials Broadband Social Tariff
Hello Everybody, Please be aware that Vodafone are not playing nice when it comes to their vulnerable customers. We have had an instance with a friend who is on the Essentials broadband package (currently on their website at £20 per month for 12 months). They applied in early April and their contract started on the 19th of…

Any downsides on BT Social Tariff?
I have not had broadband for several years, instead relying on mobile data and odd hotspots. I noticed that BT Social Tariff has come down a bit to £16 a month according to this MSE link (plus router) and I am considering it https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/compare-broadband-deals/broadband-social-tariffs/ Speed check…

Virgin Media pricing models
Why is trying to find out how much your broadband provider will be charging you after the promotional discounts and contract ends so hard? Is there any way to get at the real costs of say the M125 broadband costs once you're out of contract?

Old house, elderly technophobic resident. FTTP options. Help!
I have moved in with my 86 year old mother. She currently has a NOW broadband and inclusive landline package at £35 per month. It isn’t fibre but that has been put into the street approx 2 years ago. The house is old and hasn’t been rewired for 60 years but has had various upgrades over the past 30 years (being addressed…

Full Fibre installation - will they pull through fibre internally?
Following a renewal with BT, I have to have Full Fibre installed, they say. I've watched the various videos, and my house layout isn't one where fitting the ONT terminal the other side of a front wall position will be easy/practical. BT's blurb says you will get a new socket near your old one, but that could be anywhere…

Sim card router to replace landline internet and phone
Currently I have a landline connection for both phone and broadband, even though the phone is routed over the internet. I would like to replace this with a sim card router since I don't use a great deal of data and can get a 120GB sim for £10 per month instead of the £40+ I'm currently paying. I have 5 or 6 phone…

Broadband early terminatino fee
Hi All, - we are a house that needs fast internet conenction and have only been able to go with Virgin Media as they are the only ones who serve ultrafast to our property. Rolling contract required
I am with Sky TV and broadband but my broadband is an 18 month deal that expires next month and goes from £21 to £54. My TV deal is 24 months and expires in May 27. As such I cannot switch to Virgin until May 27. So I need a non contract deal. The only company I've found is giff gaff, but I can't set up a transfer date .…

TalkTalk transfer to utility warehouse. Is this legal?
Just received an email from my broadband provider TalkTalk today 21st July that as from 30th June I've been 'selected' to be transferred to Utility Warehouse where I will 'benefit' from extended services to customers across the UK. The email states that beyond award-winning services, Utility Warehouse helps customers save…
