Customer retentions.
Hello, I recently contacted EE to inquire about a more favorable broadband package for my parents. After the EE representative provided a price, I requested to be transferred to the customer retention department. She then stated, "This is customer retention." I am now wondering how one can verify the veracity of such a statement. Is it simply a matter of trusting their word when they claim to be from customer retention?

Yes. And if you're not happy continue with cancellation and see if they transfer you elsewhere.

If you want to talk to "customer retentions" you have to actually start a switch to another provider,, hopefully EE will then respond with a decent offer to keep you as a customer.

Request a PAC code and retentions department will very likely contact you with a better deal.

no such thing as a PAC code with ‘landline’ broadband, as far as price were you unsatisfied with the price offered , or you think that there must be a better offer only available from retentions ?.
As stated , if the price is unacceptable and you can get a better offer elsewhere start the migration process but with a caveat, you may get a call from ‘retentions’ but you may not ….so be prepared to actually shift provider , although if it’s just a case of calling their bluff , remember to call to cancel with the new provider with sufficient notice that you don’t get caught out .

When I changed ISP I lost my number, should that happen, be prepared for a bad reaction from your parents.

OP how do you know how a company works? What makes you think it needs verified that it wasn't retentions?
