On a routine lead pipe
replacement request, Severn Trent installation team fitted a water meter whilst
connecting the new MDPE pipe . They informed me about the water meter after it
was installed but before the hole was re-filled. I immediately informed the installation team that I
was not happy about this, however they…

assessed meter charged
I took Martins advice because I knew I couldn't have a water meter, I asked them to come and try to fit one. They confirmed I couldn't have one and said I would be put on assessed meter reading and my water rates would reduce from £750 to £450 per year. Happy days, but I was wondering if I would get backdated adjustments…

Southern Water - Data breach
I’ve been notified by Southern Water that they have been targeted by a cyber attack and my data (along with others) has been compromised. I can understand they would have my name and address on record, as well as my bank details, but what puzzles me is that they also mentioned my NIN and DOB, if they were provided. Now,…

Fixed charges on my water bill - increased by 46% this year!
Got my water bill today and it has inceased by 16.25%. Ouch. When I check the breakdown I can see that the increase in the fixed (standing charges) for both water and sewage has increased by just over 46%! I guess it costs a lot of money to pump loads of raw sewage into our rivers.

Water bill increase - can't people power win?
According to the World Health Organisation, water is one of three life "essentials" (sorry, but your mobile is not one of them!) In the UK we have a monopolised water supply system, which benefits shareholders and bosses (I wonder how many politicians DON'T have shares in the monopoly they created - Kerrrrrching!). We are…
