Contacting Sky to renew or cancel contract
Hi, My TV/BB contract ends this month, and the renewal offer is a lot more than I pay now but I cannot get through to Sky to haggle a better deal (or perhaps cancel). They say all their lines are closed for essential staff training. I'll keep trying over the next few days but if I cannot get through what is the legal…

Virgin Media First Bill
I've just signed up for Virgin Media broadband and anytime landline calls for £31.99 per month. And I've had an email saying my first bill will be £63! Does anyone know why this would be? I'm beginning to think I should've stayed wtih BT. They're about £6 per month dearer but at least I wouldn't have to go through the faff…

TalkTalk transfer to utility warehouse. Is this legal?
Just received an email from my broadband provider TalkTalk today 21st July that as from 30th June I've been 'selected' to be transferred to Utility Warehouse where I will 'benefit' from extended services to customers across the UK. The email states that beyond award-winning services, Utility Warehouse helps customers save…

Toob Broadband
Does anyone have any experience with Toob Broadband? I Like the idea of no price hikes during contract and the fast speed advertised.

Leaving Virgin 26th November, but....
We barely use the 'bundle' of TV services which was going up substantially if renewed. We only wanted to retain Broadband [so it wouldn't mess up emails], and landline services. They quoted me £60 [sixty] pounds per month for a service which is being quoted for less than £30 for new customers. Ideally I'd like to stay for…

Forced Migration To FTTP
It looks like it has started. A friend has received an e-mail from BT stating that they will be receiving communication in the post to arrange their migration to FTTP and to arrange install dates etc. The service will be provided on the same contract as at present with no increase in cost or contract length. No mention in…

Virgin Media Broadband installation
According to their postcode checker I can get VM Fibre broadband but I'm not in a traditional VM Cable area, does this mean they'll simply use the overhead telephone pole fibre installed by Openreach. If that is the case can I assume that an ONT will need to be installed too?

OGI Broadband - wales only
Hi all, jusy wandering what experiences people have of OGI? Lots of introductory deals going on with them which appear market leading in terms of value or money. Recently switched to them and their speed and installation does appear epic. 4 months free and 400meg download for £22 a month. Only a year contract. router is…

Full Fibre installation - will they pull through fibre internally?
Following a renewal with BT, I have to have Full Fibre installed, they say. I've watched the various videos, and my house layout isn't one where fitting the ONT terminal the other side of a front wall position will be easy/practical. BT's blurb says you will get a new socket near your old one, but that could be anywhere…

Pop Telecom Horror Story
So this is a complete horror story. I chose Pop Telecom as they were the cheapest at the time according to MoneySuperMarket and it was for my brother who has mild special needs and doesn't need fast broadband (it is probably the slowest out there). Because of the price I imagine it attracts vulnerable people (like my…

Are BT ripping my 87year old mother off?
My mother is being charged £80.48 per month for her broadband AND 30p fer minute for phone calls by BT (mobile and premium rates are charged at a higher rate). She does not have anything other than terrestrial TV her broadband use is minimal, any ideas for a cheaper company.

Where are OFCOM in the £4 per month Broadband Price Hikes?
A good few months ago OFCOM trumpeted their success in making Broadband and Mobile phone providers explain much more clearly (in simple £ numbers) their planned price rises each April. Sounds like a good idea instead of the old 3.9% plus whatever RPI increase is at the time. What seems to have happened is that many (I…

SKY charging me for Broadband not connected
I should have had Sky BB connected on 22/08/2025. Engineer came and said that the engineer who came during the week and connected a box and cable to the outside of my house, did not report a fault. Therefore on 22/08/2025 the engineer could not connect BB. Was a Bank Holiday weekend. No BB for 4 days. I contacted Sky on…

Ultrafast Broadband recommendations? Plusnet?
Hi We're looking at getting Ultrafast broadband, but unsure who to go with. I'm tempted by Plusnet because of their low prices, but concerned about reviews and customer service. Their website talks about their award winning, UK based customer service, but Trustpilot gives them a 2.2 (poor) rating which is putting me off.…

Is it time to leave Virgin Media? Renew quote madness!
We've been with Virgin for at least 12 years but I think it may be time to head to pastures new... Our current contract expires in a couple of weeks and it's price will go from £68 to £82. Online we have a renewal quote of £60 if we sign up for two years but it leaps up quite a bit in April 26 and April 27. So I used the…
