Any voipfone users?

My landline was with Sky who sent a letter stating it was going to be switched off. My broadband is with VM. VM wanted to double my bill to add VoIP. I decided to look elsewhere. I bought a grandstream HT801 from voipfone and one of their packages. My number was ported last week. Since then my grandson said when he's on call to my husband he's constantly missing bits of speech. My daughter said she's getting an engaged tone when we're not even using the line. The box has 3 lights, two of which ( tel and net) are constantly flashing off and then back on again. (No problems with internet as all other devices working) I tried a different ethernet cable, plugged it off and on (same with modem). Called VoIPfone yesterday who got me to try a few things and asked me to see if it worked and if not call back. It didn't work but I had an appointment so didn't manage to get back to them. Is this technology hit and miss, are they likely to fob me off with some excuse? Having no experience of this technology just wondering what to expect. Thanks

Have used them for almost 20 years and exclusively for well over half of that. I've always found their tech support to be very good and most the problems over the years have been my error and they fixed them quickly.

I've always used a dedicated Voip phone rather than an adapter like the grandstream HT801 but it does sound like a network issue. Id do a hard reset on the adapter first but really just keep on with Voipfone and im sure they'll sort it fairly quickly.

check your daughter is using the landline area code when she rings if she is phoning from another landline because you get the engaged tone if you don’t and if you’re only used to using the number it takes a bit of getting used to,

i use them for both me and my mother - there were a couple of technical hitches with the set up which were quickly resolved - grandstand haven’t been properly programmed in one case. I do find their customer support very good though - If you can’t call them, try emailing they do get back very quickly.

other than that no call quality issues at all - I use the adaptor and my old dect phone.

None of the blue lights flash . I’ve got the orange light on permanently and the green light seems to be regularly flashing. No idea why, but it doesn’t seem to affect anything.

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.
