Motor insurance - the cost of commuting use post-pandemic
I currently have commuting use on my car insurance policy and assume this impacts my premium (although it isn't visible in my premium breakdown). Pre-pandemic this made sense, I commuted approx. 100 miles a day, 5 days a week. Post-pandemic, I now work from home 4 or 5 days a week so my commute has been reduced by at least…

When is a claim not a claim?
I recently made a claim on my home insurance. As the claim developed, it became clear that the damage was not covered by the terms of the insurance and I have therefore withdrawn the claim and received no payment. Now, when I go onto a website and ask for a quote, should I enter this as a previous claim or not?

Insurance MID database problems - trying to get redress for damage to property
Hi all I have been chasing since last December a scoundrel who damaged my woodland plot (fence, trees etc.) by coming off the road in his fancy car before disappearing. Will a "key cover" claim cost me money?!
Somehow
one of my car keys managed go through a wash and no longer works as it should.
I have another key and the "broken" key does still work a manual key so I thought I'd just use

Car Insurance
I am an 85 year old who is taking a proficiency course and test with the Institute of Advanced Motoring. I already consider myself to be a safe driver, but there is always room for improvement. Does the IAM certificate make much of a difference to the cost of insurance ? I would appreciate any advice.

LV Home Insurance not renewing
Had an email from LV saying that they will not be renewing our home insurance (buildings and contents). I rang to ask why and they said it is because they have changed their underwriting rules, our insurance has not been refused, and we don’t have to declare it to another company if we're getting a quote. They said they…

Advice on Buildings Insurance on Inherited House
I inherited my mum's house, when she died, with my sister. We reached a legal agreement that my mum's partner can live in the house until he dies or decides to move out. He does not pay rent so is not a tenant & we are not landlords. I'm struggling to get buildings insurance as neither of us live in the property. This…

UK Travel insurance with Missed Event cover?
I'm going to London for a few days to take in some shows. I'll be booking trains and hotels. Is there some insurance out there that would let me reclaim all of these expenses in the event of becoming ill, jury service etc? Most travel insurance I've looked at doesn't seem to cover pre-booked events; and missed event…

Alternative Accommodation - is safety relevant?
My elderly mother is going through a home insurance claim after an escape of water. Total Write Off - valuation will not buy comparable car
We were recently driving along a main road when a car pulled straight out from a side road into the side of our car. Our car has been declared a total loss. One Call Insurance quagmire
We were rear-ended on the motorway the other night. Thought we were well insured. However, calling One Call Insurance has proven a nightmare.
