Incorrect car details with some insurers
I bought a BMW in 2019 and transferred my private plate from my Ford in the process. Ever since, every year when it comes to renewing insurance I have significant issues getting insurance companies to correctly link the reg to my new car. The DVLA and MID databases are correct and should my current car. Comparison sites…

Insurance company cancels policy during an active claim
We currently have an active insurance claim set to expire in late August. The repair work underway is expected to take at least six more weeks to complete. However, we've received notice from our insurer stating that they will not be renewing our policy. This raises two major concerns: * What happens if, during the ongoing…

Insurance Occupation Madness
Just been trying to work out the correct occupation to declare for a trainee solicitor's car insurance. I was looking at the options on your site and noticed that the cheapest legal occupation to declare is a Sheriff's Clerk, who would pay £325. Spain travel insurance - now mandatory?
Off to Ibiza soon and usually don’t bother with travel insurance (yes I know it’s good - please can this thread focus on the rule change itself and not ‘why don’t you have it’!) Just read about a new rule change and potential border checks for it. Anyone else heard about this? Searched MSE news but surprised it’s not being…

If we had separate policies with one in her name, I would…

Bonkers house insurance
Just checked through my John Lewis insurance which is coming up for renewal at an extra £110 a year and there are loads of cover items that don't apply to me and that I cannot opt out of -- for example, £10,000,000 employer cover, £1000 cover for domestic staff personal effects, and £6.71 a year to cover bicycle theft. Not…

Vitality - new "Play" rewards
Not sure if anyone else has Vitality Life/Health insurance - would be interested to know your thoughts on the new rewards experience they've introduced from this week. For me it's probably the final straw. Around a year ago, earning 40 points a week would get me Amazon Prime membership fully paid for, a cinema ticket each…

Life Insurance 101 needed
I've just turned 60 and I am only now starting to think how people will cope when I'm gone. I'm a Widower with no children (that I'm aware of) and 3 younger siblings. Architect made a mistake, trying to get it fixed on her insurance
We own a smallholding, and are having a garage-size building built in our garden under permitted development where the old outhouse used to be. The architectural designer we used to draw up the plans knew that the domestic curtilage only included the house, garden and driveway - not the wider land around them - and she…
