https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/hometree.co.uk looks reasonable, though as usual many are just commenting on the price.

Like most in this space they sell both service plans and insurance; for the latter I wouldnt be too excited by who is providing the insurance but trustpilot doesnt seem to have too many complaints about declined claims.

    No personal experience of them

Hometree seem to get generally good reviews, as already mentioned. They're currently rated 4.7/5 on Trustpilot from around 18,000 reviews, with quite a few people praising the engineers, response times and price.

There are some poor reviews too, mainly around missed appointments, delays and communication when things haven't gone smoothly, so have a read through some of the recent 1 and 2 star reviews as well as the good ones.

If you're looking specifically at their Plumbing, Drains & Electrics cover, check the excess before signing up. They offer different call-out fee options, including £0, £60 and £95, and you pay the chosen amount per fault. Also have a good look at the exclusions so you know exactly what they class as covered plumbing/electrics.

If the price is good compared with alternatives I'd compare the actual cover and excess rather than choosing on reviews alone.

Hopefully someone who has actually had to make a plumbing or electrical claim with Hometree will be along and can tell you how they got on.
