Best option of keeping cash over of 85K getting best easy interest?
Due to money events, looks like I may need to keep open difference bank accounts with no more that 85K due the compensation rules. I see NS&I only paying 3.65% However various other banks are paying 5% ish. Opening up multiple different bank accounts just seems so much hassle. I was aware there is the ability to just use…

I’d like to open the Bonus Saver account (4.10% AER if no more than 3 withdrawals are made within the 12-month term) and have a few questions: 1. I already have a credit card with Halifax. Is it easier to open it as I’m already a customer? 2. Do…

Joint accounts saving interest
Hi, How would like to know if hmrc are notified that an account is joint rather than have a single nominee. In the last few months I have opened some accounts with my spouse and I wonder if the numbers are added up from each individual self assessment at hmrc's end or if it would be better to notify them separately that…

Declaring savings interest – practicalities
I’ve been reading
posts here and on the HMRC forums about how tax on interest on multi-year fixed
bonds should be declared. The
discussions are inconclusive because of the lack of clarity around the rules,
and the different answers given about them. This leaves
people unsure of what to do in some circumstances. Also,…

Vanguard S&P 500 ETF and US equity index fund whats the difference?
Hi, In my ISA I’m moving away from UK based equities, which , like the UK are not doing so well, (odd that! ) and moving towards North America so Vanguard offer these two funds. I can’t see how they differ as the descriptions are a bit vague . Do they overlap? There’s a difference in their performance but not a large one.

On going through my bank statement transactions I found some dividend payments (Bank Giro Credit ref Sharedealing HSDL), dated 11 April 2024, and also 13 April and 11 Oct 2023. Astute Capital
I invested money in an ISA with a UK, London, based Investment
Company for a three year period, April 2019 to April 2022. However, just days
before maturity in April 2022, I was advised by the Investment Company that they
were changing their business model and wouldn’t be paying out ISAs on maturity.
I demanded my money…

yougov.finance bribe
It's one of these almost-too-good-to-be-true stories, but it is true. First mentioned by @Bridlington1 in the Natwest Regular Saver thread, but I reckon this deserves its own thread as it could be of interest to those who have at least 10 current, credit card and savings accounts and not everyone reads the Natwest RS…
