Halifax Bonus Saver (4.10% AER)

Good morning everyone,
What is your experience with Halifax savings accounts?
I’d like to open the Bonus Saver account (4.10% AER if no more than 3 withdrawals are made within the 12-month term) and have a few questions:
1. I already have a credit card with Halifax. Is it easier to open it as I’m already a customer?
2. Do you get a sort code and account number with Halifax savings accounts?
3. Can I pay money directly into the savings account even though I don’t have a current account with Halifax?
Thank you in advance.

You'll get much better rates elsewhere:

I wouldn't go for anything less than 5% at the moment. You can get 7% on a regular saver with FD or Coop

You can do so much better than 4.1% with little effort and no restrictions on withdrawals.0

I’ve just read about FD and Coop regular savers but you must have a current account with them first? I’d like to avoid a hard search on my credit file for now.
Do you know anything about Halifax savings account? Can I pay directly into the account with a faster payment? I know most savings account require you to have a linked current account to pay in and withdraw money.0 -
What about Gatehouse banks reg saver, 5.3% I think.Just a savings account, no hard search.1

Even YBS EA pays 4.8% (no restrictions) or their Rainy Day Saver pays 5% up to £10k and no hard search. Or Tandem Bank 4.9% with the 12 month bonus? Very very easy to open an account, no hard searches and pretty much immediate access because of Faster Payments. Don’t think YBS needs a linked account either…..Tandem does.1

I don't think you'll get any advice on Halifax as nobody on here would have this account with them, the rate is too low and its also restrictive, just 3 withdrawals.jamesrcmd said:
